Easter Season Backdrops Bounce In!

Hello everyone! Our 13th Annual Easter Egg Hunt event is just a week away where you can be eggspertly challenged by our eggcellent clues to win Easter Egg themed collectibles. You can also participate in our Egg Collectible Creation Contest until April 16th.

In the meantime to help us get eggcited, backdrops are now available for sale in the Shop during Easter Season -- hop on over to check them out! This year's Easter Season when the backdrops are visible will run from April 11th to 25th.

Bunny Breakdown, Opalescent Oleander, Easter Equinox

Each of these Recurring Backdrops costs 200 Bells. They will not discard after the event concludes and will be visible again during future Easter seasons. As a reminder, recurring backdrops are guaranteed to appear at least three times from purchase, after which they may be retired or continue to appear.

Note that if you already own other recurring scenery, please deactivate them to use a new one. Thanks to Pyoopi for creating Bunny Breakdown, and dizzy bone for creating Opalescent Oleander and Easter Equinox.

the day of egg hunting is almost here... what sort of antics does Zipper have planned for us? only time will tell.

love these backdrops and the style of bunny breakdown especially!!

Soo, why do they cost 200 bells? Are you pulling a Switch 2 on us?
Not sure if this is rhetorical, but they cost 200 TBT most likely because they are recurring backdrops. It’s a one-time fee for a backdrop you are guaranteed to see at least three times.

It’s not a bad deal at all.

Makes sense I guess.

TWO HUNDRED BELLS? I'm saving my bells for art you can't DO this to me.
But also that Zipper one is Arte so like it's still gonna be bought eventually lmao :lemon:

It was a hard choice which backdrop to pick. I love the colour change on the new Bunny Breakdown backdrop!

When buying my backdrop, I saw this. I miss this backdrop!

Agggggggghhh Bunny Breakdown is so majestic, but I already have a recurring backdrop from last Easter, so I feel the need to reuse it and get my money’s worth. I will just have to admire it’s beauty from afar 😭

I wish we could bring back the Galaxolotl backdrop. That was beautiful. I would’ve used it all the time.
^ this, but also, it feels a little strange that backdrops are usually only offered once before being shelved!

I appreciate the artists making new ones, but why not offer past options as well?

I know the team backdrops are event-specific which is probably why they aren’t offered long-term. There wouldn’t be any scenario in which our Galaxolotl space background would’ve made sense outside of Space Camp.

However, I don’t see an issue with adding normal backdrops to the mix, like maybe pride flag backdrops. I know those are coming for June since I recall a staff stating such recently. I still don’t think it’ll happen beyond June, though, considering the staff currently do not see a need for a pronoun field on our side bar either.

I think permanent backdrops would make them seem less special. They are fun to have during events, but if we had access to the same ones all the time it’d get boring, right?

It just seems like a waste of the artists' talents and resources to only use once. 😅 One time specific events like Camp make sense (although I still would love to see those qt axolotls again), but there's really no excuse for Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc because you can only use them during that time anyways. I don't think that would be "boring" since it only comes once a year and normally we don't have backdrops at all.

As long as the selection of backdrops are switched out every season in the shop, I don't think having backdrops all the time would get boring.
But honestly I'd be fine with just plain or mild gradient colors.
