Everyone’s homes ...

2 small neighborhoods. One in the beach, one by the shopping district. And maybe a town loner (that isn?t me) will live ?off the grid?

I really want a neighbourhood space for all our homes, with a park nearby, a flower garden, a pathway to ?shopping district? etc. The only reason I?m second guessing this is because having everyone so close together might mean they won?t be all over the island when they?re outside. Even so, I love the idea of the neighbourhood so I?m going to go with that :)

I have been thinking of making something reminiscent of Main Street for New Leaf at least. As for villagers, possibly paths then change into "lesser" paths, or the implication of paths but they are not actually there. I have never liked the look of total paths, so I will likely have the same sentiment in new Horizons. It may change of course depending on what is available.

I'll probably have 2+ little neighbourhood areas. I wouldn't want to cram them all in one place (especially if we're getting more villagers than New Leaf), but I want it to feel cozy.

I'm not certain if I want them all together like a small village on my island, or spread out!!

What I may do if there's a 10 villager cap, I may put 3 in one area, 3 in another, 3 in another, and then the last villager (my favorite) next to me. Or I may just lump them all together in a nice little village.

The beauty of this is if I don't like one setup I can just move them around until I do!

I will have all the villagers near one another, except if I get Apollo. It'll be like a street with a water fountain in the middle and everyone will get their own room for yards.

I?ve decided that my human villagers will have ?best friend? animal villagers so I will probably have small groups of ?best friend pairs? on different parts of my island.

One will definitely want to be near a shop as she loves shopping and another will want to be near the beach as she loves beach volleyball for example.

I'm going slightly scattered but connected to each other with paths! I also want to make little fenced in gardens for all of them! And a communal outdoor seating area / park

I?ll probably group the islander animals together and the islander playable (My Characters) sep?rate from the animals but together among themselves.

I want to try having three different housing districts.

One is going to be an urban/shopping district (I think snobby and smug villagers will like living here the most)
The second one is going to be a town tucked away in the forest that's going to feel very much like a traditional animal crossing town.
The third and last one is going to be a farming/fishing village near the docks. I might place some of the homes on the beach as well.

I have this idea that I'll have three main sectors (Urban City, Forest Town and Fishing/Farming Village) and then each sector will be in charge of a number of districts. (something like 4 or 5 each) Like the Forest Town is going to be in charge of the culture district (that'll have the museum and maybe some items related to other cultures decorating it. I might put the roost there as well) and one of the beach districts. (the beaches will probably be split between an urban/commericial beach, a natural/untouched beach and then the fishing village will have a portion of the beach as well)

This is one reason why I really wanted to get 15 villagers, because then I could have five animal villagers in each district and then I wouldn't have to use player houses to bulk up the numbers.

I've thought about this WAY too much. :p

I'll probably have several little neighborhoods. That was how it ended up in my NL town and I liked the way it looked.

I want an area for the RS and shops to be together but have the villagers staggered around the island. Although the Direct and trailers make villager communities look SO GOOD! I guess we can move houses around now so it wont have to be totally set in stone if I do plan on changing it.

Yeah I feel like I will go back and forth! I kinda wanna make all the houses together. I might make multiple small groupings. I don’t know! And having houses on multiple layers could be fun! I can’t wait to see all the possibilities!

Thats such a cute idea! I remember visiting some dream addresses (mostly hacked) who did something similar and I thought it was pretty cool. Inspired me to have a mini version of it in my town actually (I say "mini" bc my town isn't hacked and I didn't have the patience to keep reseting to make it a full blown street). So far I may also have a "mini" street on my island, and then have a few houses scattered like I did in New Leaf. I haven't really planned much so far, so we'll see.

I'm with the group that will have villagers in little mini neighborhoods, but the placement also will depend on personality. For example, my cranky villagers might be by themselves (grumpy old men wanting to experience nature and what not), while the more sociable villagers with lazy, peppy, and smug personalities will be together.

I'm hoping to make a few little communities/"neighborhoods."

Either a few clusters of 3's or two 5's. :)

Was it confirmed that houses can be moved again later after being originally located?

Hmmm, I haven't thought of this too much yet.

Probably staggered around the island, maybe in little clusters. That's how it's always been for me in previous games, so it kind of seems right for this one as well.
