trees like every color except green so they take all the other colors, and the green bounces off since the tree doesn't like it. that green comes back to you, and you see the green the tree doesn't like.

also i know i don't have much of a place saying this, but ELI5 isn't for fake answers or joke answers, it's used so people can understand a question without having to deal with the harder stuff, hence explain it like i'm 5, so it's easier to understand. you don't have to do as i say, but that's it's true purpose, and to learn the topic at hand in a simpler fashion.
