What else is there to say? ... okay, no. My avatar that I use everywhere is Missile, a top Pomeranian from the video game
Ghost Trick.
Also I changed my background for Camp it's Gusty Garden Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy but I'm not gonna talk about my avatar anymore I'm gonna recommend Ghost Trick
Ghost Trick was originally released on DS, but now the remaster is out on Switch, PC, and elsewhere, so this is the perfect time to try it out! It was directed by Shu Takumi, the same director as the original
Ace Attorney games. If you like
Ace Attorney, there's a good chance you'll like
Ghost Trick!
It's a puzzle adventure game where you play as a poltergeist named Sissel who has the power to rewind time five minutes before someone else's death and to save them from their fate. Sissel has lost his memory of his own death, so he sets out to discover the truth of his past while saving others from their demise.
The puzzles are unique and singular to this game; they are like Rube Goldberg puzzles where you use your ghost powers to manipulate surrounding objects in a small scene. The gameplay is much more condensed and elegant than a lot of adventure games,
AA included, in my opinion. Scenes are small, so you can't get lost and wandering like a lot of adventure games. Trial and error exists, but it is built into the gameplay and writing so it isn't frustrating to experiment. For example, instead of presenting the wrong evidence and resetting in
AA, you can just make a mistake, take that knowledge, and try again next time. And since you're working with a five minute timer that you can always try and try again on, it's not overwhelming. And like all Shu Takumi games, one of my favorite parts is the writing, which features a story that's
so bananas and absurd but
so full of lovable characters and
so tightly-written that you can't help but care.
I wouldn't recommend this game if you don't like adventure game-style gameplay, if you can't stand any amount of trial or error, or don't like reading a lot of text. But if you like games with unique systems, along with the humor, wacky characters, and wild yet top tier story-writing of
AA, give
Ghost Trick a chance!
TL;DR: Play
Ghost Trick, please!
