Ok don’t get me wrong i love the laid back pace of animal crossing, the rich day to day experience and immersing myself into the animal crossing world in that sense. But the start to most of the animal crossing games is SO BORING! The first week has nothing to do, few shops with little to no furniture, no features, like two villagers, hardly anything to craft and my god it bored me to the point of time travelling lots (which i swore i wouldn’t). Fishing and catching bugs gets tiring really quick and collecting resources is so easy to the point of not needing to do it after the second day so i decided to TT and I haven’t regretted it either which a lot of people say, it’s just jump started me to a comfortable point in the game which i can star enjoying the day to day life. But how does everyone else survive the first week or so?

Just going around fishing, catching bugs, trying to get nook miles, crafting tools, decorating the house etc... I had fun and played an ungodly amount of time.

I enjoyed it because it was a new game and I got to immerse myself in a new place, new villagers, new storyline, new features, and the rebirth of a community that has been quiet enough for some time. Just knowing how awesome stuff would turn out to be in the end was good enough for me.

I took it at a slower pace, taking care of things like weeding, generating resources, exploring other islands, and really just letting myself get to know. The island and it's residents. I was never tempted to tt personally as there wasnt anything I wanted right this minute

I had a somewhat okay experience. Not amazing, not bad either. I focused on catching the rare fish and by god I'm tired of fishing. Now I mostly sell butterflies. Spend opening weel by farming miles to sell on the forum. Nothing else to do really. Now that I finally advanced enough to get a camp, things start to get interesting.

I also managed to slowly decorate my islands, to create a few spots for relax and what not.

it was nice! the urge to time travel has been strong but i feel like i can get the most out of the day if i don’t time travel - most of my time has been spent fishing and bug catching and i wouldn’t have it any other way aha

I played almost all day everyday just grinding for miles and more miles so I could spend it all on tickets for island tours trying to find villagers I like. I was never bored because of that. Everyday for me is eventful because I’m looking forward to finding my new islanders. :)

Technically my first day playing was the first two days in-game, but I feel like I can still answer for afterwards... I don't feel like it was boring. Nook gave you a lot to do and while the tutorial phase was unnecessarily long, I rather have something to work towards than just be stuck with the island rating for now. But right now most proper playthroughs should work towards terraforming, which is nice to have an united goal for the community. I'm super scared of unlocking that because you can change everything. I don't know what to do with such a tool, but I already have some ideas for some corners.

But I loved every second in the game. Just discovering things on my own, meeting NPCs for the first time and grinding NookMiles to get nice villagers. I now got my 9th villager in queue and my 10th one will be an amiibo card. After grinding, talking and making bells my only goal is it to decorate my island and start the process of the look I want to go for. As someone who's not very creative it's a little bit scary.

i don't find boring it at all. i always set a few objetives for my day in animal crossing and i'm never able to complete them all xD
i've been fishing a lot, catching bugs, talking a ton to all my villagers, planting flowers and rearranging them to breed some hybrids, decorate my town with furniture that i crafted or got in balloons, gathering craft materials, selling everything i can find to pay my house loans lol
going on mystery tour islands to find villagers, to catch rare/expensive fish and bugs, and always hoping to get those special money/hybrid/escorpions islands!
there's so much to do!
and honestly i just love having something to look foward to when i wake up. to see if there's anything new and exciting to do in my town.

same! decorating my island and home is always something that scares me. and this terraforming tool seems overwhelming to me xD i've been kinda anxious about getting it and being able to change everything.

I did a lot of fishing both for the museum and for bells. I was paying off my house expansions per day. At least until it got to 750,000 bells. Wasn't able to make that in a single day on my schedule.

Grinding Nook Miles, and the milestones.

Harvesting supplies for myself and for Nook's Cranny.
Crafting tools and other things for my house.

Reluctantly setting up the 3-homes for villagers, and their ugly furniture

Hunting balloons.

Gathering flowers from the Islands.

Went to the islands and cought 28 tarantulas

Using the designer app.

And a lot more things in between. (Such as as Playing online with some people.)

The town hall takes a week to get, so this is the final thing.
Upon getting the town hall, putting down patterns to build my own patios and paths just like in past games.

I wouldn't say it was boring at all. There is constantly too much to do. The little amount of shops only gives you something to look forward to. More shops don't decrease boredom. You'd go into a shop and see some items you're not interested in (or even if so), and now, you've only used 1 minute of your time, and you're back to where you were before.

I now have Nook's Cranny, Able Sisters, and Town Hall. It was a pain to wait for the construction, but the enjoyment of looking forward to them was worth it.

I feel like some people don't realize that terraforming is 100% optional, and will never be required to progress in New Horizons. Just don't buy the permit, and you'll never have to be scared or worried about it.

It was amazing!

Every day there was something new to discover or a new challenge. I know Animal Crossing really holds your hand during the beginning, but I kept grinding away on island tours (and had a ton of time to work on Nook Mile challenges), filling up my museum, and paying off my loans. I've managed to keep away from a good amount of spoilers too.

Now that I have access to so much more (I think Able Sisters opens today for me, and my 7th villager moves in today), it almost feels a bit overwhelming actually... I'll be taking my time. :-]

One week and I unlocked so much already! Tomorrow I will get terraforming - can't be anymore excited! Only thing I am a little bit afraid of is the festival - I hope K.K. will still perform on my island ;o;

i felt like i was busy everyday. spent a lot of time on islands looking for villagers, earning bells and nook miles. i did a lot of multiplayer too

i played so much last week that i needed a break from the game yesterday, it doesn't feel like i'm missing out with the slower pace

It feels slow so I'm very frustrated feeling so far behind everyone who does TT, but I'm trying to remind myself that I'll get to play longer without running out of something to do.

Especially when it comes to crafting materials, it's been very tedious. But I'm trying to resist TT just to get ahead, since I want to enjoy the game as long as possible.

I live it for the same reasons. I will not be at. Being on a quiet relaxed island is what I need right now. I enjoy the challenge of flower hybrids and finding the kind I don't have. One day trying to get as many balloons, another working on moving and thinning trees and so on.

I had lots of fun. But I enjoy trying to fill out my museum and critterpedia. I spent a lot of time the first week catching things. I actually have every single March available (northern hemisphere) bug/fish except an ant. And for that, I'm waiting for Sunday for turnips to go rotten.

I've been playing for a lot of hours each day and I haven't TTed at all.

I was only bored on one day, which was like two or three.
But then I played different hours to find different bugs; once more flowers were planted more appeared.
I got upset the entire day RS was closed and was so tempted to TT to the next day, but I toughed it out
and went to sleep early;;

I'm enjoying unlocking everything as it comes. I wish I could be more active on a lot more threads on here,
but SO many have TT'd that it would spoil the looks of a lot, and a lot of new features.

I really focused on bug catching and fishing. I seriously did those non stop, and was able to fill up my museum with everything you possibly could (not including trash spawned bugs). I also made enough money to pay off the 1.25 million loan! I also completed a bulk of the achievements, and got started on hybrid breeding, bringing over 300 flowers on my island.

I admit I had some pretty slow days where there wasn't as much to do, but it just meant I wasn't playing the game all day in that case. I'll only keep playing each day as long as I have things to do and I keep entertained. When it's done, I'll shut the game off and go do something else, and look forward to more fun the following day
