^I think my friend told me how the anime ended? I never got throu the rest of the manga, the school library had some missing books, and I didn't want to read on the next book if I had to skip one.
I didn't realize the anime and manga were so different. I only watched a few episodes and I did see some differences from the manga, but it was subtle, then went back to the anime. Hearing that the anime is more serious and darker, I should have read more of it.

1. Are you excited for the remake? Why/Why not?
- Yes, I am definitely excited for this remake. The reason why I am excited about it is because it really brings me back to some old anime series that got me expose to anime. Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball were the first ones that I've seen, but at the time I didn't know that they were anime until I became older and watched more anime to find that out. I am curious to see the performances of the English Dub VAs that came back from the OG Fruits Basket to do this remake.
2. Who is your favorite character?
- It's hard to say who my favorite character from Fruits Basket would be. I remember finishing the anime, but not the manga version of it. Trying to remember these characters from memory... But... The character that I remember the most from Fruits Basket is Tohru Honda. So... I guess I'll pick her for now since she is the only one I can remember more since I watch too much anime. :T
3. Should Yuki call her Honda-San or Miss Honda?
- I'd say Miss Honda. Only reason is because of the OG Fruits Basket English Dub anime. :T It just seems weird to me if Yuki said Honda-san in the English Dub, but if it happens then I guess I'll try to get use to it.
1 - Yes, I'm very curious about the performances of the VAs. The direction is really cheesy in the first anime...I hope it feels a bit more natural.
2 - Can't go wrong with Tohru! Shes a great character, and watching her grow is lovely.
3 - Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, haha.

Are you excited for the remake? Why/Why not?
Ooh, yes!! This may be an unpopular opinion but I never got adjusted to some of the voice cast (dub and sub). For the sub, I thought Yuki's voice was too soft and light; I'm really liking his new sub voice, I think it suits him so much better! Tohru was perfect voice wise so it's a little sad Horie Yui won't be voicing her this time around. At the same time, I adore her new voice!
As for the dub, I was torn because I love the voices themselves but their lines were so awkward to watch sjhbdkj Hearing Kyo say "Yucky Yuki" sounds too silly and I couldn't take him seriously. I'm def open to giving the dub a try so I'm optimistic they'll let Kyo cuss this time.
Anyway, Fruits Basket was one of my first manga so I have a lot of fond memories of it. I reread the series when the announcement came and it holds up really well. As an adult, it wrenches my heart how much suffering everyone went through later on. It's a beautiful story, though so I'm looking forward to certain scenes gutting me again. I'm excited to see the student council and later Sohmas animated (Rin).
I adored the art style of the first anime but the plot was def a miss due to Takaya's hand injury and lots of changes made. I'm really looking forward to the full story being told this time.
Who is your favorite character?
Tohru! She's an inspiration to us all. <3 I also adore Kyo, Momiji (I'm not ready for his backstory ;_; ), Yuki, Rin, and Kakeru. I like most of the cast with the exception of most of the Sohma parents.

Oh yeah - watching as an adult is even harder. Unexpectedly, I'm having trouble watching Kyo. On the one hand, I know he is abused and has a terrible weight on him...on the other hand, oh my GOD, stop being abusive to Tohru and Momiji! Tohru, leave him! But he's also so young...they're what, 15 at the start? 14? Babies. Poor babies.

Yaaaaas I’m so excited! I had no idea about it until my friend told me the other day. I was never much into the anime because I’d heard it differed pretty significantly from the manga (Akito), but I loved the manga. I recently found out my university has the manga, too, so I’ve been going through that! It feels very nostalgic.
It takes me back, so much. Its also funny because it shows my thing for redheads - I loved Ron Weasley, and Kyo, and Tasuki (from Fushigi Yuugi). And now my boyfriend is a redhead! Haha.
Yes - I'm looking forward to them doing the story and characters properly.

Is anyone getting tickets to go to the theater showings? You get a cute cup and some other little things.
I'm trying to decide whether to go for the original with subtitles or go for the dub.
I am not! I'm not much of a theater lover (over priced snacks, rude people, can't pause to pee). But I hope you have a ton of fun! Make sure to tell us how it is!
Go for the dub - enjoy the screening itself without having to read the whole thing. Look for the little details. Unless you're a hardcore sub person.

i am excited for the remake. i do not see why anime fans who know the series wouldn't be excited for such a major show :0 unlike other anime remakes, this one looks promising! the characters and plot were lovely and the original anime deserves a redemption due to a shortened air time that left out a lot of the story.
also yuki should call her honda-san.

Tohru is truly just a lovely person. She has her flaws - often her flaws are her best qualities gone too far - but she is so genuine and lovely. Shes the protagonist we need.
Agreed. What Yuki calls her reveals their relationship. Calling her Miss Honda doesn't have the depth.
