I also did this and I got a cranky pretty quickly (in 3 islands), but then it took me 15+ islands to get a single snooty...
EDIT: my first campsite villager was also Zell the smug deer (very happy with this), the cranky was Del, who is an alligator (I think the alligators look pretty cute in this game) and also looks like a battleship, which I think is cool. It took me like 15 islands to find a single snooty. I finally found Gloria and invited her, not my favorite, but I don't hate her, name is pretty nice though (I'm a St. Louis Blues fan lol)

Found Biff on my first tour and actually ended up taking him. Has anyone really talked about the fact that he got a pretty heavy redesign? Isn't he the only villager to get such a huge change? His colour swap honestly makes him a really great villager imo

my last island hop (my third for the day) ended-up being Erik. i haven't had him before but i'm not crazy over him. too lazy to rack-up 2k more nook miles to go to a fourth ;o;

I went to five islands today: I found Goldie, Kidd, Zucker, Marcie, and Tia.
I asked Tia to move in!
I found it funny I encountered the most Normal villagers, as I currently have two Normal and no Snooty.

I just found Tia too! A dreamie that I have as an Amiibo but with the glitch I don't want to take any chances until it's fixed, so I invited her.
pretty sure as long as you have empty plots available you can invite more than one, but only one will move in per day - so if you invite three, one will move in tomorrow, one the day after, and one the day after that

Lmao, I went to 27 islands yesterday looking for Audie, but no luck. I ended up inviting Pashmina on my last tour. I like her, but she's not going to be permanent. Reneigh will be my only Uchi in the end. I was too scared to let a random move in though, LOL, so Pashmina will do for now.
Once I have 9 villagers again, Audie is my next goal. I really only have her, Kiki, and Ribbot as dreamies, though encountering Diana or Octavian would tempt me..
Good Luck! I also got Zell from my campsite, and I picked up Bob and Marina from islands. Still need to pick up a Snooty and a Cranky. Hoping to get a dog and a alligator/frog, but I don’t want to be super picky. We’ll see

I tried this earlier and it doesn't seem to work, once I invited a person from an island, no other islanders would appear even though I had an extra empty plot. Pretty sure it's 1 a day ;(
Only with the first 3 after your starters.
With the ones you get after you camper moves in, it's just one per day I'm afraid even though you may have multiple plots.
I thought they were 1000 at the start. I’m probably wrong.
