Oh I see, I recruited a villager from the mystery islands after getting the camper in today. So I would need to wait until tomorrow
It's one islander per day.
So when you recruit someone today, buy another plot of land and go on a tour tomorrow.

Congrats on getting Zell! He's my favorite villager and I am currently having him move in via amiibo. I island hopped yesterday for my 7th villager, and was able to find Zucker on my 3rd island, even though I already had a lazy villager, so don't lose hope! I went villager hunting today and found Marina to be my 8th, although I already have a normal villager! I truly think the island villagers are random.

Today I had more good luck (my 100th something Nook Miles ticket), and found Judy on my first and only ticket!!! Other than Megan I haven't met any of the new dudes and dudettes yet.
Is Judy popular? I've never seen her before so I assume she's one of the 8 new villagers?

I am doing this too. My camper. Quillson, will move in tomorrow. I put up an extra plot and went island hopping looking for a cranky or a snooty. 6 trips later...I've seen Ellie, Chow, Harry, Boots, Kyle and Zucker so far. I would have gone for Zucker but I already have him in my second town.After my dinner, i've got to grind out more Nook Miles so I can try a few more times.

I recruited Rocco! So happy since he was an original camper from my New Leaf town and I was looking for a cranky villager. And I got him on my first try too!
The only villager type I'm lacking now is snooty, so tomorrow I'll try to island hop for a snooty. I'm just not sure if I should only go for snooty or accept any other cute villagers that I like, so I can balance trying to get all the types, having a 10 villager limit, and also picking villagers I actually like.

Whew. Eighth Island I visited had Fauna! Not the cranky or snooty I was looking for but I could not pass up that adorable cutie pie
Farmed nook miles like crazy waiting for villagers to appear on the island today. I actually spend 100k+ miles today. I had maybe 6 or 7 villagers I wanted to move in. Hamphrey popped up and I instantly invited him.
Was NOT planning on wasting all the miles on this but I was in too deep at a certain point lol.
I passed Soo many loved villagers along the way (Zucker, Rosie, Coco, Marina, Wolfgang, Cheif...to name a few)
And if anyone's curious, the villagers I was looking for were Erik, Tex, Hamphrey, Dobie, Bam, Monique.
Was NOT planning on wasting all the miles on this but I was in too deep at a certain point lol.

I saved up about 9 tickets in order to blow today as soon as I got my campsite villager (Kidd). Gotta say, the lineup was pretty 'meh...'
Anchovy, Sally, Plucky, Sterling, Chops, Horsby, Victoria, Simon, Weber... not much. But then on my last one, I got Amelia! I've never had her before but she's a snooty I like a lot, so all in a good days work. I have 4 tickets I saved up, but I wanna grind some more miles before I place another plot.

Yes, this is normal. You won't meet anymore new villagers until after you have bought another plot from Tom Nook and placed it.

I've been on 3 island hopping runs since my campsite got set up! I got Bones on island #13, Kyle on island #4, and Fauna(!!!) on island #17. Kyle and Fauna are definitely sticking around for good! I ran into four bamboo islands and one hybrid island while looking for Fauna, too.
I saved up 4 tickets and decided to use them today to find my 7th villager. Met Vic, Rocco and Anicotti in the first 3 island, which was all standard island (same fruit and flowers) and felt like there wasn't much hope of getting a decent villager for my island.
I used up my final ticket and got another standard island (with a different flower from my native) and came across Octavian. He was kind of cute so I've decided to invite him into my island! Also because I didn't want to risk getting a random villager into the new house plot that I've just set up ;v;

I did some island hopping today too, and was lucky enough to find Flora on my second trip. I was really happy because I have had a lot of... less than ideal... villagers randomly move into my other plots.
