[GUIDE] ♡ TBT Guide to Time-Travelling/Moving out Villagers. ♡

Haha, that's actually a pretty cute/sweet story. :)

haha thank you! wasn't planning to tell anyone how my username was formed since it was a pretty embarrassing story! <3 XD

Also, I changed the title from "My guide to Time-travelling out Villagers" to "TBT guide to Time-travelling out villagers." since plentiful TBTers were contributing information to help this guide improve! <3333 I can't just take all the credit!

Ahahaha!! I have no ideas so that's how everything started xDDD

Once I can drop Katie at someone's town,I'll try out the 3 day forward method instead of the 2 day fwd 2 day bck method when I cycle :D

Awesome! remember to find who's moving first (get the villager to ping you - if you like them, make them stay) and then start the 3 day method! this makes it safer and it becomes a chain <3 post here the results if you'd like! <3

Nope, we're not related in any way! She's actually my animal crossing best friend and she was the first person I ever met and traded on TBT <333
And she gave me my ultimate dreamy Coco when I first joined <333

LOL and honestly, I sort of based my name of her username. I saw a post sn0wxyuki was selling Coco on TBT so I made a TBT account just to get Coco, and I was thinking of a username, since I was joining TBT to get Coco, I put in "dreamy" and then I saw sn0wxyuki, so I just randomnly put "snow" in my username. "dreamysnow" sounded weird to me so I added an "x" ~

so then it became "dreamysnowx" XD

Well that's intresting :D

Sure!I'll post some results here :)

Just one more reason why dreamysnowx is awesome. Willing to help ppl and putting a lot of effort and energy into doing so. I haven't read this guide yet but just wanted you to know that :)

something that wasn't mentioned: talk to each of your villagers at least once a week, or they won't ping you about leaving.
well from my experience anyway, i found out dotty was leaving through another villager, and i kept saving and quitting to get the ping, but it wouldn't happen until i talked to her about not seeing her for a week.

i've tried the 2/3 day method before, but it hasn't worked 100% for me.

i found that this method always works for me:
-make sure someone is in boxes
1. TT 1 year forward
2. TT 1 year forward again
3. TT 5 days forward

after the 3rd step, you will always get a villager in boxes and a new villager move-in. :) (unless there's an event on the third step, then i usually just TT 1 day forward)

maybe this will be useful for any cyclers out there, haha
also, when you hit 2050 and have to go back to 2012, i usually just tt by a few days to see if anyone is in boxes.

Awesome guide! Thanks for the post, this is just what I needed as a starting cycler. :)

I do have one question though- does it matter if you use the clock inside the game or the clock inside the 3DS? I tend to hear bad things about using the game clock but I still dont understand why. I have two separate ACNL games, ones my main that I dont TT in and one is purely for cycling, and im scared to mess with my 3DS clock in case it messes up my main town.

I suggest you use the 3DS clock rather than the in-game clock, the in-game clock I never touch as it is more likely to "mess" up your game and get worse results from what I hear. The 3ds clock is more easily used to wind town, but do it carefully!

is this method for getting a particular villager in boxes or all your villagers in boxes? the 2/3 days method is more for getting that one particular villager in boxes and it does take time on TT-ing. :)

I am going to add in a seperate faster method FOR cyclers when I get home after researching. Have school now D:

this is probably a really newbie question but? I'm currently at 8 villagers. if I tt 3 days ahead, there's a chance that someone random might move in, right?? How can I combine this with the "create a new character" technique to control some who/where a new villager would move in? or is that impossible?

A very likely chance you will get a random move-in since you are at 8. I'll explain the 8-9 process and put it into the guide when I get home from school. It is possible to control who moves in and where by using the save new file! It is pretty much like plot resetting. So basically, just TT each day, go in as NEW SAVE FILE and walk around checking for any house plots, TT up to a week if you have to. If you see a house/house plot you don't like. Just turn off the 3ds and continue going day by day to check. If it's too confusing, i'll explain it more when I get home c:

yeah I don't quite understand if you TT with the mayor, then if someone moves in you can't then make a new character to reset, right? thanks for your help, I'm kinda new with all this.

If you enter with the mayor character, it will automatically save when entering! You know how when you enter and Isabelle sayins "preparing your town.."? They're actually saving since the game is pretty smart. Meaning the game knows you've already entered the game so you can't really mess with it anymore! Same goes with your already created characters. Don't enter using any created characters already. So don't ever go mayor when doing these methods alright? New save file however, the game doesn't save when entering as a new save file so it's fine to do these methods using new save file !

Oh,… so you create a new character, and then before you save, you check the town,…. and then you save and quit and then TT to a few days…..? Thanks for bearing with me and helping me understand
