[GUIDE] ♡ TBT Guide to Time-Travelling/Moving out Villagers. ♡

I am doing this method and its working well, i have not lost a villager yet. But, basically i havr 9 dreamies and i am trying to get the one villager out, and it is soooooooo difficult. She just refuses to ping me. Is the whole thing about the 10th villager true? I thought it wasnt because i had one villager ping me almost immediately after moving in, but this one is really putting up a fight. Sigh. I think i am about to give up. :(

Sometimes, it takes longer for a villager to ping as villagers tend to ping more if you have a HIGH friendship level with them, while those you don't have a high friendship with tend to not ask to ping as much. I suggest you keep tt-ing until you reach 2 weeks? Don't talk to the villager you want to ping in the mean while! If you keep doing the 3 day method until it reaches 2 weeks, I thinkt hat will count as you not talking to the villager you want out for 2 weeks, and that is called the "ignore mehtod" and the game will notice you are not interacting with that villager and they will EVENTUALLY ping to move. This is not efficient information though since it's coming from me, but give it a go and dont give up! <3

im happy the method is working XD <3

Thankyou!! :)

Well, you just change the date on the 3ds clock, and then enter the game as a NEW SAVE FILE. If you don't like the villager house plot that is in your town, just don't save at all, and switch off your 3ds and re-enter the game on NEW SAVE FILE! Keep doing it until you find a good villager house plot you like. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SAVE <3 XD

if you do find a house plot you like, go to isabelle at town hall, isabelle will then tell you to go to MAIN STREET to Nook's and Nooks will ask you where you want your NEW SAVE FILE'S house and you just put it wheever you like and then go back to isabelle to become an official resident, and then save and quit. c: <3

This is such a helpful thread ! Btw, in one of yr previous post u said u found a more efficient way to cycle out villagers ? (mainly for those who cycle towns) . Can I know how ? :)

This may have no relevance here, but I stopped playing for 2 months and not a single villager in my town moved.

Will try this out! Also for the 'Safest and Slowest Method' , i think you have to speak to all villagers at least once (and that is to welcome them to your town).. this is only if you want to know who's moving out lol, dont introduce yourself if you dont want a notification from isabelle lol..

Also, moving backwards in time, no matter how far you go, it will only count as a new day a.k.a the next day ^^ the game only knows you traveled backwards, but not how far you went back xD

I never tried the two days back/forth thing T-T

thanks all! I will add a MORE efficent cycling guide to this this week, just need to research abit more <333 and got lots of assignments in the way D: will bump this thread to tell you guys when it's updated!

LOL.
Apparently, there's a theory where if you want to stop playing for a while and not have villagers moving out, you just find out what villager is moving, tell no, and stop playing and come back and all the villagers would be still there?

It's a theory though, all your villager friendships aren't high enough, making your villagers stay?

I know this one person who's been TT-ing up to a year at a time to get his villagers out and none of them budged LOL.

Well actually I stopped playing November-March so thats way more than 2 months. Its kind of weird, but interesting.

I'd like to put my support to this theory. My friend had a villager move out (in boxes and adopted that day). They meant to move only to the next day for the house to disappear but they ended up moving forward two months. No one else have moved out. Someone did ping that day to move out, but otherwise, she still has all 9 remaining villagers after a month. I remember this well because she was panicking and was already planning to reset out of desperation and I was like "calm down, maybe only those you didn't like moved out, maybe I can get one of them from the void" and... well, they were all still there. xD Lots of weeds though.

It could still be luck (doubtful). I'll test it out when I move out a villager sometime, derp.

thank you! <3

I plan on researching more about this soon to back up evidence to this theory! x

Another add-on:: TTing year by year helps if you dont care about your current villagers and the house placements c:
You get a new villager every year you TT (whether you go one year at a time, or many years, it doesnt matter ^.^) and at the same time, you lose a villager living in your town.. so here's the overall example (5 year interval)::

2014: you have Nibbles, Canberra, Jitters, Marina, Olivia, Freya, Vic, Lolly, Lopez (9)
2015: Canberra is gone (w/o notice), plot for Beau shows up.
2016: Nibbles out, Carmen in.
2017: Vic out, Renee in.
2018: Freya out, Lobo in.
2019: Beau out, Punchy in.

Soo by 2019, your villagers are:: Carmen, Punchy, Jitters, Marina, Olivia, Lobo, Renee, Lolly, and Lopez :)
Just another tip for fast *popular villager* cycling ^.^

hm, I shall research more about this and get back to you on what I find if you'd like? c: x

Sure, if you want.

Played a few days ago to get a spider crab, I imagine that will trigger a move. The playing, not the spider crab xD.

Just wondering, but for the past 3-4 times a villager has pinged me to move in my cycling town, they have changed their minds on me right after I tell them to leave. Its driving me crazy. What do I have to do to get them to not change their mind? I know it has something to do with friendship, but does that mean I have to continuously be my villagers slave and do things EVERY time they ask me to? I talk to them fairly frequently, but I do often ignore their requests. Does anyone have any input or helpful advice on this?

(for the record I don't talk to them again after they tell me they're moving- they change their mind RIGHT after I tell them no)

oh honey! if a villager pings you and they change their mind, DO NOT save. Just simply turn off your 3ds, turn it back on and enter the game and walk past them to get them to ping AGAIN ! They'll give you different answers about them moving each time! trust me!

don't save , turn off your 3ds, turn it back on and enter game, walk past them, get them to ping!

keep doing this until they change their minds, THEN you save <3333

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHY HAVE I NOT THOUGHT OF THIS. SFGDGHDFGHQDFGSDQFSQDF.

Thank you. I am forever grateful. I want to slap myself silly for not even thinking about trying that.

Then again though, I guess I didnt really know thats how the game worked. I didn't realize in the slightest that the game will keep the same sets of "codes" (dont really know how else to put it) every time you start/dont save.

I vote that this information should be put in the front page post for people that just didn't know about that trick, because I sure didnt.

No problem sweetie! I didn't know about this too when I first started! I had to reasearch! haha!
if you need anymore questions, comment on this thread or message me <3333

also just wanted to add, by not saving and turning off your 3ds , this will cause your villager to "reset" its answer about moving <3

here's a method i always use to get someone in boxes really fast!
however, this only works when you have someone in boxes already.
-tt one year ahead when someone is in boxes
-tt another year ahead
-tt 5 days ahead

you will always get a new villager + someone in boxes! :)
