[GUIDE] ♡ TBT Guide to Time-Travelling/Moving out Villagers. ♡

Actually me, myself also don't quite understand the TT and enter with new character. How do you TT with your new character without entering mayor as Rover will not ask time/date change with the new one?

I would like to know this as well? T'T backwards seems safe? does it still count as one day"forward"?

My question is, why not do the new save file method all the time? Is it because people fear data corruption by closing the game without saving too often?

If you trying to get rid of a villager by TT backward, think about TT-ing forward later on, lol. However the different is TT backward no matter how far you go only consider as 1 day, and TT forward counts each day. I would say is best to maintain a 2 week range

Eg: TT each day forward and reach the 14 days, TT back to your actual date and start the cycle again.

What do you mean by the new save file method?

Not saving often won't cause the game corruption. Shutting ds during saving or take out cartridge, remove ds card (digital) are more likely the cause~

For people who want to know how to time travel forward without logging into your mayor character, just change your DS's clock through the settings app. The DS clock will also affect the ACNL clock. Say for example your town is set to March 10th and you change your DS time from March 10th to 17th, your ACNL town will also jump 7 days ahead.

I also wanted to add that on the day that you prevent someone from moving out of your town, you can time travel forward as far ahead as you want and no one else will move out, without you knowing, because the game hasn't designated a new neighbor to move out yet until you log into your town again. This will allow you to jump more than 2 or 3 days ahead to ensure a mover or even a month if you wanna regrow your grass really fast

thanks lol I am just helping someone out with their bug collection and need to go back a week to sept :3 I thought it counted as a day! just wanted to make sure

ah but in order to see who is leaving or who is moving in and where, you have to login with someone… so *___* I'm so confused haha.

Oooh, ooh, I have a question though! O: What if your in-game clock is not the same as your 3DS clock? Does it count the days regardless or does the game follow by the dot?

Like... if my game is on, say, March 1, and the 3DS is on March 10th, if I TT to March 17th, will my game say March 17th or March 8th (counting for moving 7 days forward)? o:

I haven't tried using the 3DS clock because I don't know how this will work. xD

The game will jump 7 days accordingly so it will be March 8th

yeah I don't quite understand if you TT with the mayor, then if someone moves in you can't then make a new character to reset, right? thanks for your help, I'm kinda new with all this.
Don't TT with your mayor, it is very unsafe. New save file, however, is not as dangerous when TT-ing!
If you like that person that moved in, go get your new save file registered by going to Isabelle, then she will tell you to go to nooks and then choose a random spot to make your house (you're going to end up deleting that character anyways UNLESS you'll ike to keep that character) and then save and quit. If you dont like the villager who has a plot in your town, then just dont save and quit, just turn off the 3ds and enter the game again. (no need to TT more at this point)

Also when deleting your character, there will be a very ugly patach so put the characters house in a spot you think you won't care about!

For me, TT-ing backwards is safe. I always TT 3 days forward until I reach 2 weeks, and a villager finally pings and i TT TO THEIR MOVE DATE WHICH IS AN EXTRA 5 DAYS. So altogether that is 19 days forward, and then I TT 19 days back (to the original date) and all my villagers are still there, safe and sound. I won't guarantee this as I'm not an expert. You will get a few weeds though! <3

It's just a matter of personal choice for each person, and some people don't know about this method, so yep. c:

Never heard of any data corruptions from this method, as far as I know it, this method is pretty safe and wont cause and corruptions.

Basically, to check who is moving who isn't. Just enter as a NEW SAVE FILE. If you enter as mayor, the game automatically savces when entering.. so if you enter, and you find a villager you like is gone/in boxes. It will be too late. If you're sitll confused, feel free to post more questions! this is quit confusing XD

Since it's the day AFTER his birthday, there would be no interruptions to his move date I believe! :)

ah ok oops hm so they really want you to celebrate with them? still i think you should be careful then if it's only one day after his birthday that he'd move. how many days before is it that they won't move out? a week?

5 days =D after the date they mention~

I guess I"m confused about exactly what you do and in what order. How do you TT with a new save file without saving? Is this something where you change the time settings in the DS, and then go to ACNL and create a new save file, check the day, save or don't save… then quit, change the time settings in DS and repeat…??

Thanks a bunch!!

That's how I do it too :) once villager is in boxes and adopted / or you want to void , I TT back to original date
I do this too!

Also, I read somewhere that the latest move-in is immune to moving out. So I always talk to that villager to check for rumours.

Well, you just change the date on the 3ds clock, and then enter the game as a NEW SAVE FILE. If you don't like the villager house plot that is in your town, just don't save at all, and switch off your 3ds and re-enter the game on NEW SAVE FILE! Keep doing it until you find a good villager house plot you like. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SAVE <3 XD

if you do find a house plot you like, go to isabelle at town hall, isabelle will then tell you to go to MAIN STREET to Nook's and Nooks will ask you where you want your NEW SAVE FILE'S house and you just put it wheever you like and then go back to isabelle to become an official resident, and then save and quit. c: <3
