Yes, different kinds of house requests unlock certain types of clothes and accessories, which you can either put in the house or have your character wear.

Oh really? I wonder what kind of villagers unlock these clothes:

Rainbow Feather (Are those in the game?)
Thick Glasses
Pleather Pants
Orange sandals

I really want my player to look like my mayor, so i'm kinda worried that it might take until I complete everything in the game just to get all the clothing I need.

For those with the game - what is the easiest way to unlock all {or most} of the villagers? Are villagers you unlock on mainstreet any different then the ones you get from the cards?

And when you unlock villagers how do you visit them if they aren't from a card?

To unlock all the villagers, I just accepted their request on main street then unboxed what they wanted and told them I was done.

There's no difference with the villagers, but when you've scanned a card it changes their picture in the notebook to look like the card.
You visit them from the journal, it's got pictures of all the ones you've done houses for

Good question! I'm hoping some of the folks already playing can answer this for us. In the meantime, I checked out any unboxing videos I could find--they're all unboxings of either the limited edition 3DS XL or of the NFC bundle, which comes with the game, but this is what was unpacked:

3DSXL bundles (2 unboxings):
- Resetti
- Isabelle

NFC reader/game bundles (4 unboxings):
- Timmy (or Tommy?)
- Tom Nook
- Isabelle
- Sable

Yea, they already said that a special amiibo card comes with the game, meaning a special character.

Only the first 500,000 or so copies of the game came with a card. Amazon is still selling the bundle with a card though, so I don't know how many were included with the hardware. It was a random special character.

oh so after the initial release the physical copies wont include a card? or am I understanding this wrong. I wanted to get a physical copy for an extra chance at a special npc, if thats not the case I'll just download the game so I can play immediately.

nevermind, i found the answer on gamestop's page for the game.

"Includes one game + one amiibo card + Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer Accessory"

Questions:
Can you say "no" to a villager? Like decide not to decorate their house?
Like can you say no to all of them, until you are able to find your dreamies?
Does the layout of the town stay the same for everyone or is that changeable like in ANCL?

you don't have to accept people initially so you don't have to say no really, but im not sure how that would affect your dreamies. All the villagers are open to you, there isn't a limited amount of room so doing any random villager would not affect finding your dreamies.

and for the layout of the town, its just preset buildings, the only way to affect the layout is by choosing which shop will be which

I haven't read all the posts in this thread, however I did read OP's on the first page and didn't see this mentioned.
I'm wondering if it's possible to have multiple files on one cartridge? I've watched a few Let's Plays and it seems there can only be a single file.

yes, i believe there is storage limit of 120 or sth but i could be wrong

Thanks! That seems like a lot compared to the handful you can use with a single acnl character, but I have a feeling I'll eventually run out of space.
