This is a really awkward question I know but I honestly hope that I'm not the only one whose had a crush on one of their villagers before. This is also my first post that isn't a reply on this site.
I personally haven’t. I do consider the villagers the villagers to be friends, however. This is likely due to the fact that throughout high school, I didn’t have any friends. I do have a plush of Bones, though! He was one of my first friends on the game.
No. With the exception of Wild World, which I don’t remember playing at all, I played most of the games in either high school and college. When I played the games, I saw the villagers as friends and that is it. I do think there are cute villagers but not in the romantic sense.
I only started playing the game as an adult, and all the villagers read very young/ babies to me, in addition to being animals (which makes them not potential crush objects for me)
i adore my villagers, though, I get much much too attached to them.
Don’t worry, though, @DrSkittle it is definitely not just you - I have seen many other people say they have/ had crushes on villagers.
I did, Mott in New Leaf. XD I also do have a massive crush on Brewster. ♡ Im not ashamed
Also none of the villagers feels like babies to me. All of them feel like theyre grown up (except npc kids like Katie) you can be childish without being a child.
No. I view my villagers just like how I view pets. They are dear to me but I never had any crushes on them. If I find a villager to be cute, I will invite them and care for them. They are lost on an island after all. I am realistic though. I know they are video game characters. They say the same dialogue most of the time and they do things they are programmed to do.
It's a no from me as well, but I've known a number of people who have had villager crushes, so you're definitely not alone in this. Personally, I'm only really interested in human characters, but the interchangeable personalities of the villagers wouldn't work for me anyway. Most villagers do read as adults to me though, and really, I don't think it's all that uncommon—in fact, I'm fairly certain I've seen a thread somewhere around the forums where people were discussing villager crushes they had/have.
No, not really. I’ve mostly considered all my villagers just as friends, no crushes. However, if I have two villagers of the same species, like if I had Moe and Merry, than I consider them both to be crushes towards each other. I think it was called shipping? Not too sure on the term. c:
other than 7-8 year old me googling “how to date villagers in wild world” because i was strange and wanted bones to be my boyfriend for some odd reason, it’s a no for me LOL.
It's the reason why I was so keen to buy Merry's amiibo card. She's just so cute. The way she's kinda insecure about her chin reminds me of my own insecurities. And bubbly too! Her desire to be a star is adorable too.
Helps that I've already gotten closer to some of the villagers through the AC mobile game before I bought my Switch, so having to meet them again is like meeting an old flame friend.
I think it's really adorable when people have crushes on fictional characters~ Personally, I may or may not have a thing for Fang... I don't mind being just friends, though. ❤
LMAO now im embarrassed to admit it bc i didn't think there would be a lot of no's, but I used to have a crush on Kyle back in New Leaf when I was like 14. The smug villagers really charmed my young heart, and I really adored talking to Kyle back then hehe. I'm no longer a teen now though so I haven't had any villager crushes since, but i do like to imagine my villagers as characters designed just like in Beastars, which makes them feel more "relatable" to a human than the game sprites do.
My first AC game was wild world and I played it when I was around 12 years old I think! My favourite villager was Cube and at one point I got a letter from him that read a little bit like a love letter to me back then. :’D I think I had a little crush on him, but maybe that was because he was one of the few villagers who were really nice to me! Since then I never felt like that about a villager though ^^
