Help with corrupted data

Hi, unfortunately, my game started acting glitchy and when I did a check corrupted data was found. What would be the process of saving or transferring my data so I won't lose everything when I eventually have to delete and re download the game?

the game is the digital version if that changes anything

If you’re playing with a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and your save data is corrupted or damaged, our main recommendation is to try deleting/uninstalling the game from your Nintendo Switch and re-downloading/re-installing afterwards.

When it comes to a game's files being corrupted in some manner, deleting the game and re-installing it should not effect your game's save file as that data is held separate on the system's hardware data. The only time you'd have to about worry save data is if the save data itself is corrupted.

Simply re-install ACNH to fix the corrupted data, and you should be able to play again with no issue (hopefully)!

thanks for the answers! I've read horror stories about people losing all the hours they put into the game because of corrupted files so I just wanted to make sure before trying anything

the error i got while playing didn't mention anything about the actual save file so I guess I'm safe
