How do you all decorate your villager houses?

Just wondering if anyone can answer a question about villagers in happy home paradise as when i buy it I am intending to fill some of the vacation homes with villagers I would have liked on my home island but have not been able to yet because of the 10 limit and me not wanting to get rid of anyone so I am wondering if we are able to visit the vacation home villagers and it have nothing to do with work so just for fun? Can we become friends with them like we can on our home worlds?

Also I am really confused about villagers from our home world going to the vacation world with us one you tuber dubbed it "take a villager to work day" haha but I noticed on the video as soon as our home world villager arrived in the vacation world they started to ask for a vacation home and I am assuming here if you make them one we loose our home world villager at this point to the vacation home/world? I love the idea of taking a villager to the vacation worlds but not to lose them there lol

Also can we remove villagers out of the vacation homes as watching info in this it appears we cannot which sounds weird to me as we can on our home worlds?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask for this information but after searching around and watching videos I cannot seem to find the information anywhere regarding this topic and as I am getting closer to getting the DLC I would like to know what i am doing so i don't make any mistakes with my own villagers..

You can visit them but you can't make friends with them. You pretty much can only ask how they're finding their place and if they want a remodel.

You can have a villager from your island also have a vacation home while living on your island. It doesn't move them off of your island, or split their time between the 2.
When you're on your island they're on your island, and while playing the dlc, they're at their vacation home.

Once you've given a villager a vacation home you can't take it away from them.
But you can move what spot their home is at, redecorate it as often as you like, and have them share with other villagers.
You can make a vacation home for every single villager in the game so there is no need to worry about removing them.

Hi Moritz

Thank you so much I really appreciate your taking the time to explain it to me as this was one of the areas I was struggling to fully understand and find definite information on. I am a little disappointed that we cannot make friends with the vacation residents or get rid of any we may dislike a lot. I think I am going to stick to my plan of not allowing my home islanders to own vacation islands for now as I think it might feel weird at the beginning bumping into replicas lol

One last little question if you don't mind. If I take a villager to the vacation islands with me via chocolates do they always ask for a vacation home? and if so can I refuse them? I only ask as I like the idea of being able to take villagers with for the day but not having to give them a vacation home if that makes sense..

I redecorate my villagers homes only after I give them so much stuff that their houses start to look ridiculous. Then I set their homes back to default. For some reason I don't really like messing with their default homes. I try, but it just never works out. I did make an exception an for Etoile, but they were small changes compared to redoing her whole house:

Kemdi,

Aww that interior is awesome  there are so many creative players on here and at this point with thinking about buying happy home paradise around August/Sept when I have just about completed one full year in the game I can honestly say first things first I need to get rid of all that fish in their homes first then concentrate on remodeling lol I wish I could set villager homes back to default right now but after I get the new DLC I am not sure i will be able to stop myself fiddling around in their homes constantly haha

Alright coming in with screenshots of each of my current villager's homes.
I know you saw at least some of them already, but I've been meaning to take screenshots anyways.
Sometimes I think about what they would like in their houses, but I mostly just go off of why I like them or what they remind me of.

Diana.jpg
Diana's house is based heavily on the painting Ophelia (Sinking painting). Her default house has a bathtub in the middle of the room that reminded me of it for some reason.
Flora.jpg

Flora's house is based on a tropical beach resort(I didn't actually put that kitchen there, but she always seems to be cooking. It looks nice enough so whatever lol)
Bianca.jpg

Bianca's house is themed around Lisa Frank, she's having a tea party with her plushies.
Ione.jpg

Ione's house is based around her love of constellations (and PC gaming).
Judy.jpg

Judy's house is filled with plushies and pink, I kept her starry walls because it's already perfect. I love that for her.
Julian.jpg

Julian's house is similar to his regular one too, but now with a more... Roman vibe?
Rodney.jpg

Rodney's house is pretty much his default house, but turned up to 11.
Muffy.jpg

Muffy's house is like my dream room in real life. She seems to have a hobby of sewing gothic lolita dresses, so I made sure to incorporate that. I especially love the ram rocking chair and yarn balls in here.
Lily.jpg

Lily's got her nice own little terrarium. I hope to keep frogs in the future and Lily seems to be based on a White's tree frog, one of my favorites.
Tangy.jpg

And Tangy runs an Orange Julius I guess. I love food themed villagers and I wish there were more of them.

(Bonus pic of Tangy 'cause she's a cutie)

I like all of the designs.

It would not be true if I wrote, “I like them equally.”

I am most partial to the redesigns for Judy and Tangy. (They look like designs the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game-development team may have wanted to create and establish, in the first place, for these two villagers.)

👍

Firesquids

Such wonderful ideas. I truly love the way you have managed to capture the various personalities of the villagers with their homes  You have given me plenty of ideas for a couple of villagers I have on my islands when I am able to get started mainly Ione and Judy in this case but I also have Amiibos for Diana, Bianca and Julian which gives me a start when I am able to get going with some re-designs. Fab what you have done with Tang's space too as after waiting ages to get her Amiibo for a reasonable price (super high prices here in UK) it's finally on it's way in the post-)

Also some fab creative design ideas here. I love looking at what players have done with villager homes and can't wait to have a go myself (I am not very creative tho) when I finally get the DLC which I have been putting off for now because I want to finish a full year in the game first but confess the more cute pics of villager interiors I look at lately I am likely to end up caving in and getting this DLC but after that I would probably disappear or days on end while I play. I must go find the picture thre you mentioned-)

Oh, right. Forgot to upload mine. This isn't really my personal aesthetic, but I picture it as the kind of flat that Roald would have... if he wasn't a lazy fool who could only craft a wooden block chair. I also realize that it's a tad on the messy and busy side with clashing colors and things sort of just strewn about everywhere. But I also feel that's in character for him.

Tarantella,

I think you got Roald perfectly what a great design for him despite as you say it not really being your aesthetic-)

BrokenSanity,

You are very welcome I love looking at creative talent wherever it may be and good luck in your chosen career path I am sure you will succeed:)

Thanks! So far I've only tried to make small subtle changes that mix well with their default homes. I haven't tried to redesign my villagers homes completely yet, but I'm thinking of doing that for my starter villagers Rod and Katt.

The only changes I can make at the moment are villager gardens as I don't have the DLC yet but I tried to scrutinize their types going beyond just personality and hobby which i really enjoyed doing so when I get the DLC I think I could easily get lost for days as i think I am going to enjoy it more than I ever thought I would despite not being a brilliant creator by any means lol Please come back and post your Rod and Katt builds when you are done I would like to have a look and this is reminding me that I must go find the thread that posts pics on her as I just love to peruse game pics:D

Is it me, or is Roald watching a program on a half-apple-shaped television set?
