I have a black and white cat with a fat cat face she’s 4, we adopted her when she was 2. Her name is Elvira named after Elvira, Mistress of the Dark! Her name was Daisy when we adopted tho. She has scoliosis.
I also have a tortie named Bambi! She was a kitten when we adopted her and now she’s 2. She is my big baby. She needs cuddles every hour. She also talks a ton, you can have a full on conversation with her. I named her Bambi from the Disney movie; one of my favorite oldies.
Didn’t think I’d end up with cats with strip per names and didn’t think about it in the moment
Maybe this just shows my age but I browse baby name websites and keep a list of favourites on my phone. Then when I get a new pet I pick from the list.
Except my first cat, fluffy, who I was for some reason allowed to name when I was 5.
My other pets were not named by me, but one of my cats is called Charlie Chaplin (just Charlie the majority of the time) which I picked because he was a black and white stray and Charlie Chaplin was a tramp in black and white films. I have a background in dance and circus and more recently film and tv, so I still appreciate older influencers to those arts and Chaplin was an extraordinary talent and incredible force. So he gets a fitting tribute by having my cat named after him haha
My first cat Mittens
We did not choose her name, we adopted her from a shelter and I think she was a few years old at the time, so she already had a time and we kept it.
My second cat Loki
We chose his name from Marvel Loki, he is one of my mom's favorite characters and seemed to fit him at the time, but now he is just really shy.
My third cat Keegan
We chose his name just by searching names for orange cats and Keegan popped up, it means son of fire and it actually fits him perfectly since he is a very mischievous boy.
My fourth cat Leo
Again we did not choose his name, we got him from a foster family and they already were calling him Leo and we did not want to change that to confuse him, so we just left it as Leo.
i only give my pets names that will inspire respect and/or fear into the hearts of those who hear it. none of this 'mittens' nonsense, meet my pet iguana 'bartholomew edguardo williams iii'
I named my pet something easy to pronounce in Korean and in English. I'm going to keep doing that, so my family members can talk about my sweet babbie widdle baboo
Usually I don’t to be honest. Someone else in my family or someone I know has always been the first to name my pets for me. I‘m fine with that to be honest, as I really have a tough time coming up with names for pets.
