I think they’re pretty entertaining to watch sometimes. I definitely wouldn’t watch continuously, but I kept up with some of the more important and unique runs, and for super long ones like the absolutely ridiculous 100% runs I found them pretty relaxing to put on again in the background.

They are fun to watch! There is a froggy chair category and I love it! It's nice to watch people speeding through thr game looking for a certain item lol

They're pretty good, and sometimes you see items you haven't seen in a long time and it makes you want to get them yourself lol

What oath said. I didn't even know it was possible to speedrun AC. Then again, if JaidenAnimations did a Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends speedrun...

They look fun! I prefer watching challenges or builds though.

I want to see someone speedrun New Horizons and complete every single Nook Mile objective in full.

Now that's an entertaining 90 real life day continuous speedrun right there.

I wouldn't guess anyone was or would speed run ac unless they lost their file and was trying to get out of the long tutorial which is kind of a speed run through the tutorial.
I have heard of hardmode, which sets self made rules while playing.

This one YouTuber, BrianMP16, made a video where he became the first documented person to completely 100% PG, no hacks, and he has multiple videos describing the process. Basically, he just wanted to get every item and creature possible to collect, including the post model, which you can only get by maxing out your bank account, which would normally basically take a lifetime. In the end, it took more than 300 hours. He even included items that you can’t normally get, like the unused paper airplane, but somehow got it without any sort of cheating device. It’s pretty insane, especially the ways he found turnip patterns to know when to buy and sell. This is the first AC speedrun I ever watched.

That’s not something I would watch, honestly. I’m not a fan of watching speed runs of any game.

I think I tried to watch a speed run, but I got kinda bored, so it's probably not for me.

I like watching the challenges like, Rags to Riches, and Hard Mode.

I love his content. He’s one of the kings of ac gameplay / vids imo.

Interesting so many people prefer challenge runs, I can never get into those.

When I think of Animal Crossing the last thing that comes to mind is speedruns. I would have guessed though that some players would end up doing such things like that though...which is why none of it would interest me. I get why some people like it but its just not for me. AC is a game that I find relaxing and played at a slower pace and I want to keep it that way.

They’re definitely one of the funniest games to speedrun as they clearly weren’t designed to run as it has no beginning to end story. But with the many things you can complete in all 5 games (Even spin-offs) lots of speedrun categories are made.

I wouldn’t do any myself, but I’d love to speedrun a game that isn’t hard or takes a long time to complete.

i've definitely have seen some speedruns pop up in my recommended but they're typically with a certain goal in mind (complete museum, collecting all the gold tools, breeding all the possible flower hybrids, etc)
they're not really my go-to content but they're fun to watch sometimes~!

I think they're incredibly boring and counterintuitive to the core gameplay of Animal Crossing. And most of the time very cringey, like BrianMP16's content - the amount of times he has to say he was the first person to do something is so "FIRST!!@!!" culture it's embarrassing to watch. Quickly blocked his content from showing up on my feed lol

Like... it's Animal Crossing. I get there's a bunch of different ways to play, but when it comes down to it as long as you're willing to sit and grind, anyone can do it. There's little skill involved and "timing" as far as number of hours it takes to complete largely comes down to luck. At least speedruns of Mario or other games involves quickly defeating enemies or traversing levels. This is just a big no from me, and the type of AC content I don't engage with.
