How do you feel about your island after putting some time into it?

So for some reason I didn’t realize the Resident Services tent changes into an actual building at some point (lol what’s wrong with me) and now I’m not so sure I like the placement of mine - it’s literally 3 tiles above where the airport dock is. Obviously this is one of the buildings that can’t be moved and I’ve already put a couple days into the game so I don’t really feel like resetting, so I’m just gonna make it work.

But my question is after playing a bit does anyone else have things they don’t love about their island/would have chosen differently in hindsight? Are you gonna reset or just go with the flow?

I'm still unsure. I don't like that I have to place buildings without having access to the whole island. I know I can move them later, but I'd rather just have them where I want them now.

I've only clocked about 20 hours into the game but I love my island more and more as I take the time to walk around and explore it

im so stoked mine is still barren pretty much but i've been hooked since I started. I like working around with what it's got to offer, probably won't change it much when I unlock that permit in the demo trailer

Yeah I feel the same way about that too - I just try to think about how much content it’s going to give me later on in the game when I’m able to terraform and get everything placed perfectly lol

On day 1 (which was yesterday), I was a little unsure because I was so restricted with that one little area you have access to. Today though, I feel a lot happier since I got the vaulting pole and was able to access the other parts of the island. I chose my map with my residential services area in mind as I think I remember someone saying that was the one thing you can't move later on. I'm beginning to set up a little yard area around my house and I'm really enjoying building things up slowly!

seconded (or third-ed?). I'm a total planner with these kinds of things and would prefer to be able to work with the whole layout from the beginning, but I suppose it gives us something to work on later as well >.<

My island is doing ok so far? I like the layout I have but I'm really regretting the placement of a lot of the buildings. Once I unlock the ability to move buildings I'm gonna have to do a lot of rearranging that's for sure.

I reset my original island because of accidentally time travelling a bit too much, and feeling guilty for progressing a bit too much unintentionally. But my new island, I like a lot. Much better island layout and has apples! Did a little sneaky time-travel to 'catch up' to the current date, so I'm all caught up and now on my third day! Everything's going great.

It seems ok, I still have the same feeling I had when I chose it.

At the moment there isn't really any structure to it, things are just placed around haphazardly.

I think when the museum opens tomorrow that'll change a bit because a lot of my clutter is just stuff I'm waiting to donate.

I'm not worrying that much about where I place buildings right now because I know I'll moving them when I get the construction permit anyway.

I tend to fall into the bad habit of thinking I should reset because "the next island might just be a little better!". I'm okay with mine so far. I have a fruit I like, I have the dock and peninsula in the locations I want, I have the color of airport I wanted. The Nook Services could be in a better place I suppose, and I haven't gotten any "favorite" villagers yet, but seeing that I'm only on day two, there's not really a lot I can do yet. Once I can terraform and move buildings around, I'll really be able to set things up the way I want!

the way the rivers are in my island are a bit bothering , i know i can change them later , but before that i gotta cope with it.

its also so messy , there are weeds , fruits and wood all around the island

I'm enjoying my island so far, I decided I wasn't going to reset at all and try to enjoy the randomness aspect of the game in true AC spirit. I did get lucky and I like the layout of my island, and I got apples and a blue airport. :) Don't love my villagers currently but I'm not too worried since that can easily change in the future.

Can't wait to unlock more buildings and play around with the placements!

Eh, I resetted with the residential area in mind so I like where I put it. I let the airport color be random, but I got yellow which I really enjoy. I resetted for apples too and I like them. I don't really know how I feel about house placement, but even if a certain tent couldn't be moved I'd just learn to live with the limitations. For me resetting New Leaf just killed my fun, I want to play day by day and let it be.

I'm thrilled with mine.

Have logged quite a few hours, and learning the map still now that I have the vaulting pole. I have a rive mouth to the south and a river mouth to the east, my dock in the west, and a green airport. No pears or apples either [but cherries!], so I feel lowkey blessed.

I picked my island originally because I saw the little flower pond, but it looks like the top-left of my map is full of cliffs, which I don't mind at all. I picked up some bamboo shoots on a mystery tour, so that might become my new home [whenever the ability to move house comes...].

My favorite thing is fishing off the rocks... and it's absolutely gorgeous at night. Not related to my island in particular, but the sound environment is amazing.

While I am not totally in love with my island yet, I'm going to keep what I have and be thankful. Lys has oranges, an island for my orchard plans and plenty of room for future use. Starting villagers could have been better but also worse.

I like mine so far. I don’t really have too much planned for my island yet, so I’m kind of just going with everything. I’ve time traveled a few days to be able to do a few more things, and the more that unlocks the more I enjoy my island. I think I’ll really like things once I unlock the landscaping permit, whenever that will be.

I'm pretty happy with it. I didn't get pears for the millionth time and that's pretty much all I need.

i feel alright abt it! im planning to completely change the rivers so it will be much different once im finished. have been really annoyed at having to put buildings down knowing ill just move them later though since i didnt have full access to my island day 1

I'm happy with it but i kinda wish i placed stuff differently. I can change it later though.
