How do you feel about your island after putting some time into it?

As I progress, I'm beginning to visualize how I'll be setting it up once I unlock the permits to change the terrain. The Museum will be the featured building, for sure. Going to be splendid. Shop and house placement will be tricky, however. Cedar trees will be abundant, and glorious.

This game is just ridiculous, and we're only on day 3.

I'm okay with it so far! I want to have resident services, the shop and museum n stuff all in the small beginning area and then all the houses up so I can't wait to unlock the moving buildings!

I'm obsessed! Later I want to move the river and buildings but it's a really great base.

I don't know. I'm sure I'll end up having to move my buildings, because I pretty much just put them wherever. However, I think I chose the best map out of the available options.

I'm pretty happy so far. I don't love the placements of villager's homes right now but I'm getting a feel for where I want things to go.

I have some problems:
1. My airport is blue. I'd rather it be orange, red, or pink
2. Apples as the native fruit. I'd rather it have been oranges
3. Resident Services being literally a straight walk from the airport. I'd rather the path between these two buildings be more organic. In fact, I'd rather Resident Services be on a different section of the island, not the same one as the airport, though that's not possible for obvious reasons.
4. My starting villagers. I got Rocket and Sly. Ideally, I'd have wanted Alice and Muffy. It's a good thing I'm not too big on the villager interaction aspect of Animal Crossing, though.
5. Considering whether I should've simply named my island "Banna" instead of "Banna Bays."

Am I going to reset? Nope! I'm among the group that rolls with the punches and lets things naturally unfold, making the most of what's been given me. Who knows, maybe a few months down the road, I'll say, "I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!"

i'm really pleased with my island right now. it's still early yet but i'm really working hard on making it my own. the only thing i regret is breaking all but one of my rocks while i was learning the effects of eating fruits rofl. i wasn't expecting them to all be breakable!! at least i still have one and i haven't fully unlocked the rest of the island so i'm sure i'll have more >.> hopefully

So far, so good!
At first, I thought I picked the wrong layout, since I didn't have much space to work with at the start, but it's really grown on me! I can't wait to see what else I can do with it!
=^-^=

I am not sure yet. I do like where my house is, but I'm unsure about the villager houses. The future museum is going to be in a cute spot, but that may be moved later. I'll find out better when I finally get my ladder to explore my entire island!

I love this game. My island isn't bad. I don't know, the map options I got weren't all that great, but I didn't want to do the whole "restart to get the perfect map." Plus we can terraform and all that, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what I can do to make it better. But I don't think it's terrible. I actually really like the river system I have. But I see some people saying they have a small island within their island that their river creates, and I think that'd be awesome. Above all else, I like where the Residential Services building is, and in the end that's the most important thing, right?

Oh, I do wish my native fruit was peaches, but it is what it is. At least I didn't get pears.

I like my island! The only frustration is the fact that you are physically limited to what parts of the island you can access and it slowly opens up. This means that you're also temporarily restricted by where you can place any new buildings. I know we can change that stuff later, but still.

Aside from being restricted to a part of an island, it's going well so far so good.

I haven't planned anything yet and I placed most of the buildings kind of randomly. We can move pretty much everything later on, so I don't want to stress about it now. I'm just enjoying the first few days of the game!

Yes! This. At first i was super mad at myself because i misplaced a house by an inch and couldnt fix it, but I realized later when things actually get going I can get creative like I want too. I never love the grinding, I have to admit that’s not part of the fun for me with animal crossing so the tools breaking kinda upset me too at first but im used to it.

I am now just trying to progress in a neat manner. I don’t want to just throw stuff everywhere but theres no point being meticulous about it right now. I have a few walkways made with fences and all the shops + houses are centralized and next to each other for convience.

Love love love my island, and it gets better every day! I just grow more and more fond of my residents too, even Renée who I wasn't a fan of. ♡

My island is still very basic but the more effort I put in the more I grow to like it! I only have a very basic layout plan atm but I’m glad that we have the option to move stuff around at a later date, it makes me feel way less anxious about placing somewhere wrong

Saame. I didnt know u can't move resident services so I have to work around it. But really the other maps I was given had it in a similar spot, so I'm just going to change half of my original plan. It's going to take longer than I thought because I didn't know moving houses was so expensive in the context of early-game.

It's a group effort. We have 5 people playing on it. And possibly a 6th and even a 7th. (I think you can have up to 8.) But we're working on it. Museum is being built and the shop with the raccoon's. Eventually I'll probably post pics here. We're looking to go big. But it will take some time. Can't wait for the ability to put paths.

My island is fine. Everything is being built in the initial area as no bridges yet, of course, and with that comes a feeling of it being cramped with everyone living on top of one another, and no real layout/structure to things.

But I know it'll be a long-term project. A month or so from now with most things unlocked and a huge cash stockpile, I'll be able to think about reshaping the island and paying to move things further inland.

Then every few months I'll get a new idea and completely reshape things again!
