This is not a tongue in cheek question, I am genuinely interested in your answers.

There are some members who are new or maybe just naive who stumble upon the TBT marketplace and needing some in game bells, see this seems to be the place to sell a few TBT bells, and post a selling thread having not done their homework checking current rates first.

Members who have been on the Forum for a while realise that in game bells have greatly devalued, one of the reasons that exchange rates for TBT bells has risen, most of the members who buy in TBT bells have no particular shortage of cash with which to do so.

Now you see a post asking a ridiculously low exchange rate for the TBT bells offered. Would you clap your hands in glee, answer the post quickly paying the asking price fully knowing that in reality you have cheated that new, naive, hard up player out of what was a fair rate, or would you tell that member that they had undervalued their stock and offer a fair current exchange rate?

it's a moral dilemma, but I see it happening. Be honest, what would you do?

I'd probably tell them they we're doing it wrong. I am an honest person and I don't like seeing people falling down when they could get better. It's like watching someone steal an innocent stranger's bag, I wouldn't just stand there and watch them lose it.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't post at all. (I wouldn't know how to phrase it ehe) But if I had to pick one, then I'd probably just tell them since TBT bells don't mean that much to me. I'd feel bad for them and would feel guilty to cheat them out of it.

I'm honest. But I sometimes try to be honest in the nicest way, other times - I'm just honest in a cruel way. :~)

I used to sell my spare pokeballs to members at market price (74 bells)

edit: guys stop messaging me, the pokeballs are not for sale.

I thought this would be a thread about TBT members and honesty, but instead it's a thread about TBT bells...

I don't use TBT/AC bells ****, but if I did, and I saw a member selling them for like 100 TBT/100k I would tell them 100/1mil

I'm not honest at all :-[

I go to the VTP looking for people (mostly w/o avatars eheh) with 900+ TBT Bells and ask them if they're willing to part with them. Sometimes they don't reply, but there was one time where I made a trade with me giving 1 million bells for their 1200 TBT Bells. I asked them to pay whatever they think is right, and they decided to give me all their tbt bells lol soznotsoz.

Are you obsessed with tbt bells or something?

Yeah I'm honest and I'm not always nice about it.

I guess I would be torn... on one hand, it's not that hard to figure out what the current rate is. Just look through page 1 and 2 of the TBT forum, right? And if you are too lazy to that, well, maybe you deserved to get swindled, ha, ha.

On the other hand, TBT bells are an imaginary currency. It has value because it equals people's time, whether that time was bought by being active on this forum or actively seeking in-game bells, like turnip trading, etc. But, it's not real money, and do you really want to cheapen your integrity over a forum currency? So, at the end of the day, I would tell the person then try to buy it.

I would only tell the new player what the exchange rate really is if someone, who's been around the forums for a while, tries buying from them. Because they obviously would be doing it just because they're greedy and want more for less.

I wonder how many of y'all lyin' when you say you're gonna tell them the current exchange rate lmao

i dont really need tbt bells that bad so id probably tell them that they were selling too low
however if someone was already in the process of buying then i wouldnt interfere..bc its not my business so

It depends.
If they were selling their tbt bells for something EXTREMELY low, such as 100k, then I would suggest that they raise their price a bit.
If they were selling for about 500k, I probably wouldn't say anything because even though it is lower than the current exchange rate, its not TOO low.
If that makes any sense. e.e
