How long can you do pushups?

Seeing others who say they can't do one make me feel better about myself.

Cause I can't do one either. My arms are too weak to push up my body weight ig. Same thing with pull ups, can't do one to save my life. I can sit down and lift myself up but that's really the only way I can support my body weight. I'm average weight too for my short frame.

Around 20! I try to do 20 pushups everyday since I've been trying to increase my upper body strength lol. Not sure if the ones I do are 'full power' or even the correct way to do them, but they work for me i think,,

i don't think i could do one. i haven't had to do a push up in the last 7 years.

Currently, I can do about 40 to 50 push-ups in a row if I force myself (and those are deep ones. If I were to do them all halfway, I could get more in, but I prefer quality over quantity. Adding to that, I exercise alone, so I'm not in any competition with anyone).

I usually do repetitions of like 10-20 at a time though, as I alternate it with doing other resistance exercises (then coming back to doing more push-ups until I get at least a 100 in total).

Overall, I think it's better to do 25 or 50 well-done push-ups in a row than 75 or 100 half-assed ones.

see this is good because you don't do them all at once, you take breaks in between! Always important 👍

Pushups are honestly an overrated exercise, IMO.

I think I'm pretty decent at banging them out...but, I'd rather just do something else.

Honestly, that's how I feel about most traditional exercises. It makes more sense to me to be splitting fire wood, carrying rocks, digging holes, etc. I appreciate that many people don't have the space or resources or desire to work with their hands. But, traditional exercises are so monotonous.

I did go pushup for pushup with one of my friends when I was drunk one time, and I was able to beat him fairly easily. I don't know how many I did...but, it was to the point where I could have kept going...but there was no point, because he already stopped. I'm going to say it was well over 40.

Aside from silly competitions like that, I honestly don't go out of my way to ever do pushups. I guess that would change if I was ever stuck in a room or something. But...not for the time being. Of course, pushups are great if you only have your body and a room.

Not even 1. I'm trying to gain some upper body strength and try to do around 50 wall push-ups every day. Hopefully some day I'll have enough strength to do one proper push-up!

ohh gosh my core & upper body strength is not very good, and i weigh a lot, so pushups are not my strong point. probably only like 2 maximum at the current juncture :' )

i'm wayyy better with lower body strength. i have some powerful legs. you want squats? i got squats! pushups, though... hahaha :' )

This might actually be a fun way to follow up my progress. I've started working out about a month ago (I've always kept myself generally fit with cardio but never really "seriously" worked out to build muscle). In the very beginning I couldn't even do 10 pushups as I hadn't done them since my time in highschool 🤦‍♂️ I started training with knee push-ups and slowly moved more and more regular ones in there.
Pull-ups are giving me the hardest time, lol. I'm about 1.85m so I have a long body to pull up and my arms are still saying NOPE 😂

My current numbers are (these are the total from 3 sets with breaks in between): 100 regular pushups & 40 pull-ups (still supported with those rubber bands)

My goal is to get those pushups done in a shorter time frame and then I'll move on to some other variants. For the pull-ups I'm working to weaker bands & then finally no support bands :)

I could do these push-ups for a pretty long time.

I was born with unusually weak hand strength, so I’ve never been able to do a proper push-up before. As for assisted push-ups I can do 10 before getting too tired.

I can't even do one full one. Stupid weak little wet noodle arms.
