This feels like such a dopey question, but Googling it doesn't give me any answers. I think my wording is either off or else nobody ever asked.

But when I have a "date" with a villager, how long do I need to stay? I feel so dumb and bored waiting a few minutes then talking, waiting longer and then talking, and so on. And they don't always offer you furniture so I can't go by that alone.

Can you rush talk to wrap things up or can you tick off your villager by leaving too early?

Well, I've always waited for them to say its time to go. I don't think they'll get mad if you leave early though o:

OMG...they actually let you go??? *head-slap.* I guess I haven't been as patient as I thought...

Thanks for the quick reply, tho! I think I can now leave Zell's safely. :)

Oh, wait, they say they will leave when THEY come to YOUR house, but I don't think they do the other way around. I recall waiting for 20 minutes or so and they never kicked me out. ?

If you mean visiting their home you could probably leave anytime, I usually leave once I bought something. Otherwise if its your home, just wait for them to say it's time to go after running them through all the rooms (unless they show up on a whim, then you can just chill in the main room).

Whenever I went over to a villager's house, they never kicked me out (I'd wait like 15 minutes and still nothing)

When they came over to my house, they'd only stay a short amount of time especially if I showed them all my rooms quickly.

Thanks, all! Lately, tho, my house has been a disaster with so much stuff (*cough* Halloween candy and stuff*) and they can't get to my other rooms. Then they keep saying I have a "secret room" or something!

I feel better about ending "dates" earlier, tho. I have so much to do than just sit and watch them wander around their room.

When a villager comes to visit your house, show them every single room. Make sure you talk to them once in every single room in your house and they will let themselves out and tell you they have to get going shortly after you talk to them in the last room of your house. Sometimes villagers let themselves out if you just stand around, but other times they don't so you can always let yourself out and they will leave as well.

if you're visiting a villager's house you only have to stay until you talk to them two times or so. they will never kick you out, but if you just walk in and try to walk out they'll stop you. i once visited chadder's house while studying for an exam and left my game on, and was literally there for 2+ hours, but i didn't talk to him upon entering. he wouldn't let me go until i finally talked to him XD

Ah...good tips! I'll pick up my house a bit and make sure I can show them every room. Gah...I'm such a packrat, tho. At least now I know that you can talk to them at their house a couple of times and likely they ALWAYS say, 'Leaving already...' or some such and ask how you like their house.

He was holding you hostage XD

I didn't even know I can show them all my rooms xD they always left after only staying at the main room xD

Honestly it creeps me out when they sniff around to see what's in my pockets and they always ask to come over when my house is a huge mess. One villager wouldn't leave until I showed every room. Said I was keeping secrets. I only stay a couple chats when I visit. Pietro never believes me when I say his house is amazing. That throws me off.

I've noticed they tend to stay shorter the move they like you. Cookie and Fushcia's friendship levels are maxed and they stay for like 2 seconds, then leave.

Go inside, look in any furniture that has doors (sometimes they have something in there they you can have), and than leave again. Never had any bad responses. I do the same when they visit my house, never stay longer than a minute.

Unless someone will now reply that the longer they stay (you stay) the higher your friendship will become?

When they visit my house, they tend to leave right after I've shown them every room and spoken to them once per room.

When they visit me I wait until they go and when I visit them I buy a furniture and then leave :3
