🎮How many Nintendo games you wish you could refund from eshop?

While not directly bought from my account (it's from my sister's because she wanted the game), it would be Cuphead which was probably around $25. I avoided this game as much as I can due to its difficult gameplay that turned me off. There's an option to play a slightly easier difficulty, but you don't really progress unless you play on the standard difficulty the devs intended to. My sister is not good at those types of games and even if I were to do it, only rage and stress would be involved and I don't play games to feel that way. It was bought months ago and we haven't touched it since so I felt like I wanted the money back even though it's from my sister's account.

None right now. The only game I have gotten from the shop is new horizons. All the other I bought physical copies in case I want to sell later on. The only reason I had to get animal crossing online was because of the Corona virus lockdown on March.

Just Overwatch, I just hate the way it feels on Switch in dock mode. It sucks that Nintendo and Sony I think don't offer refunds for digital purchase. I've gone all digital, but now I watch lots of review on games before I make my purchasing decisions now.

oof too many
- summer in mara (switch)
it's really boring, i never play it anymore

- story of seasons: friends of mineral town (switch)
this game is just a bad version of harvest moon

- the first tree (switch)
same as summer in mara, it's a super boring game and the graphics aren't even good

- adventure time: pirates of the enchiridion (switch)
i thought i would enjoy this because i love adventure time but i didn't like it

- yokai watch 2: psychic specters (3ds)
backstory time lol
i loved this game so much and had 2 kyubis on it (my favourite yokai)
then my aunt took my game to give to my cousins and i bought myself another copy but i can't like it again because i've lost all my stuff

- pokemon x (3ds)
i bought this when i lost my old copy then i found my old copy, now i got 2 haha

For me it's Antventor. I pretty much had to cheat my way through the entire game. I don't mind challenging puzzle games, but this one was WAY too out there for me to even consider that some of the solutions were logical.

Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star.
Bought it because of my girlfriend, tried it, it is absolutely trash. Probably the worst game I ever played in my life.

While I've wanted to refund physical Nintendo games in the past, I've never felt that way about a digital copy. I try not to buy them. Physical copies are still superior in my mind because you can share them with friends without linking Switches and they're not tied to an account.

None of Nintendo's games. I hated Yooka Laylee, though. I was so sad it wasn't good :(
Was it the mine cart levels? lol

I enjoyed Yooka Laylee enough (mainly because of Banjo Kazooie) but those mine cart levels were trash.

The camera in the game gave me a headache. I usually only have that issue with first person games. I might try it again another time but, yeah
edit: the levels also felt very empty. they could have used more enemies maybe? I didn't make it very far bc of the whole headache thing so perhaps it got better further in.

Story of seasons is the real harvest moon though. I do think the in game models would like much nicer in a different style and am not a fan of that style at all, but I'm willing to put up with it to play the game because I know I like the series.

idk
i grew up playing harvest moon: tale of twin towns and i actually adored that game
the towns were super cute and very well layed out, the character art was the most adorable thing and the music was perfect

then i get story of seasons: friends of mineral town because i thought it was similar and maybe better but it was the ultimate letdown and worse than harvest moon for me
plus the graphics are kinda bad for a nintendo switch game

this doesn't mean i hate story of season as a series since it's just 1 game i didn't like
i'll be getting pioneers of olive town because that one does look really good 😊

I mean I think it looks different than tale of two towns though. I like that one too. It's not the same style.
I haven't played enough of fomt to be able to form an opinion. Visually, I don't like the graphics and character style. Not their portraits though. (Can't remember what I felt about the world graphics though. This only applies to people's sprites. And maybe horses? I think they maybe have weird faces.) Gameplay wise, it feels good so far. Not far enough to tell. I like it so far but I don't like some of how it looks. I can get past that for an otherwise good game though.

Honestly, there are several games I got because reviews were good but I haven't really enjoyed them much at all. Guacamelee and Fire Watch are the two big ones, even though they weren't that expensive I would've had a more enjoyable time if I had spent the money on games I actually was interested in for reasons other than the reviews. I could've gotten two of the Picross games with that money, and I sink easily 30+ hours into each of those games. It's too bad Nintendo doesn't have a refund system set up, but that's Nintendo.

Are other platforms big on refunds? TBH, I mainly buy physical copies, and almost exclusively for Nintendo systems, except ACNH since we went into a strict lockdown a week before release, but I sort of see buying a game and wanting to refund it because you didn't like it like buying a box of chocolates and wanting a refund because you didn't like them, even if games are generally way more expensive. Yeah, it's a waste and it sucks, but it happens. Unless the game's basically unplayable, I don't think I'd ask for a refund.

ETA: I do hate when the price goes down drastically shortly after I bought a game, though. Again, with Nintendo games, I don't think that's really a problem usually, but since someone mentioned the SoS:FoMT remake, that's one game where I wish I could get the difference back. Nothing will ever hurt as much as having gotten a 3DS on launch day and not being allowed to connect to the WiFi at home until after it was too late to qualify for the ambassador program, though.

i would refund story of seasons: friends of mineral town. dont get me wrong, i know its a remake of an older 2003 title and so stardew would be a copy of it, however what stardew has on it is that it improved everything.

friends of mineral town is so...boring. and im on year two now so i did give it a good chance, just it feels like im alone in the game???? it feels like i dont really need to talk to anyone and everything is so repetitive

also as someone said earlier in the thread, no customization options besides skins???? really?
I agree with this. I didn't buy it, but I've watched my brother play a lot and it just seemed like Stardew Valley did the same thing but better. I own Stardew so I thought it was pointless to buy FoMT. Plus, I'm not really a fan of the "Harvest Moon" series games in 3D for whatever reason.
