Well. I've spent about 12 or so tickets up to now. I've never met any of my top 10 favourite villagers. But I'm not into grinding it obsessively. I've settled for villagers that I like and invited Norma, Gabi, and now Sylvana into my town. I would say now that I lived with them, they are top 20 for sure.

I spent like 13 tickets and got Diana today. I like her and she was a dremie in new leaf but for now I am open to more than the set 10 villagers. I really like Pinky for example! Never knew she would get one of my favorit villagers 
Ahh I probably spent around 20-25 tickets to make Audie appear in a random island (though getting my preferred Normal and Lazy in the process). I hate that it auto saves a lot. Ughh this isn't Splatoon or any competitive online game so please don't make it like one (I'm looking at you Mr. Nogami). Sure, it's probably one way for us not to abuse the Nook Miles Ticket through resetting but I don't like how you're forced to get the smug or whatever villager camping in your island the first time. Haven't gotten to that point yet but I'm already dreading that day, to be honest. Sorry for the rant lol
was lucky and got both flurry and punchy in less than 20 tickets total! have found quite a few popular villagers like sherb and judy as well but left them since they are not my personal favourites. planning to go island hopping again today and hoping to find scoot, pinky, julian or olivia

Honestly, it was worth the amount of tickets spent. She's awesome and cute as heccckkk. Now I just have to look for Raymond, Sherb, and Étoile.~
On that note, does anyone know if you can find Étoile in the campsite/islands? I lack her amiibo card and was hoping to be able to find her via those methods.

I used 25 tickets yesterday with my goal being one of the new 8 villagers. I was having horrible luck til my 20th ticket, where I found Audie! I'm still looking for Cyd or Raymond, but I need to farm more tickets. ;w;
I've had some insane luck. Got Fauna on the 3rd island and Audie right after!
I got the game some while after launch so they were only the first 3, I'm nervous to see how many tickets I'll burn through when I can set up more housing plots.

I haven't met any dreamies, nor any new to NH villagers. I did finally find one villager I liked enough to invite - Piper. Eventually I would like Victoria to move, so Piper can be my peppy (unless I find someone better eventually).
I'm one of those who are just hunting for Raymond. Been burning through tickets but haven't had any luck...yet. Need this cat so bad lol. I'm keeping a spreadsheet of villagers I've encountered and the count for snooty villagers makes me lowkey wanna scream Hopefully I run into Raymond soon bc this is so tedious lmao.

Three tickets to find Marina, and two to find Flora. Though on another day I went through 6 or 7 tickets and didn't find anyone good. I ended up getting Limburg randomly. Ugh...
Anyways, I just felt lucky getting Flora and Marina, so I was quite happy. I don't think I have the patience to hunt super-specific dreamies. Hopefully the move out/invite glitch will be fixed soon so I can get a couple more of my favorites from other players.

i have Étoile's amiibo card and tried to scan it yesterday. as of right now, we're unable to invite her >< maybe they'll include sanrio villagers at a later date, but not currently.
[edit] i'll add in my own struggles lmao i'm at like 20+ nook tickets ; ^;;;;;;; currently farming more to get back out there.

On another note, as soon as Curlos moved out, I used another nook miles ticket and managed to get Sherb on a money rock island! So happy.~ Now I just need to find Raymond. *-*
I got Merengue on my second...third? tour. She was the 5th villager to move in, I was just taking all of them without knowing I could get someone random. I love her but most likely won't keep her.
I got Zucker yesterday on my 1st tour, and today I got Sherb on my 1st tour! I got two lazies in a row...and...I may just keep both of them they are so cute. I really want Raymond but I only have 1 plot left open and no cranky or snooty villagers yet.
I'm wondering if I should just fill with one of those personality types for now and wait until I can get someone in the campsite to move Curlos or Rodeo out ASAP.

I was looking for a cranky today but didn’t get any. I ran into Rudy on my 9th island tour for the day and I invited him because he used to be in my NL town and I just love to hate on his dopey smile. I guess I’ll just have to rely on my luck tomorrow for a cranky. I want to have all kinds of personalities in my island for variety in dialogue.
I haven’t met any of the dreamies on my list aside from Maple (scanned her in via amiibo), but I was really lucky in meeting both Marina and Marshal in probably less than 10 tickets? I haven’t been counting but Marina was my 5th or 6th villager to move in and Marshal was my 7th! c:
