The GameCube game had what 15 villagers? I hope new horizons has at least that if not a few more. 10 just isn?t enough I feel. What number do you think is good?

I also hope their personalities is more developed. In new leaf they repeated everything. As well as every personality type said the same things. I think each villager should have certain things only they can say. Idk maybe it?s just because I played new leaf way too much I?ve seen everything there is to see.

Anyways. What do you think?

i definitely would like to see more of a range in personality types and overall dialogue. I think the beauty in replaying the old games is the fact that they have more extensive dialogue and it makes you more immersed in the town life. I would also love for there to be more than 10 villagers as i have so many that i adore and would love for more of them to be in my town. I remember in wild world you could only have up to 8, so i hope if we don't get the option for more, we at least have 10 as a minimum, i want to interact with as many faves as possible.

I feel like 10 worked well for me. In GameCube I always ended up missing villagers as the town was so large and they were so spread out. I could be open to more however.

The personalities and dialogue definitely needing a overwork in New Horizons. They were terrible and way too watered down in New Leaf, villagers in general didn't represent their personalities in a good way anymore, dialogue was for both villagers and NPCs so stale, like look how boring Blathers became for example, he just repeats the same sentence over and over again whenever you donate something to him, what happened to his explanations? Him showing his love for his job? Comparing how it was in previous games, they lost a lot of their charm and creativity for these two topics in the 3DS title, so I really hope this is going to be fixed in the Switch title now, as I want "rude" villagers and enjoyable dialogue again please.

As for the amount of villagers, 12 up to 15 would be a nice, but I wouldn't mind if it's 10 again.

I would love 10 or more villagers - it would make the island feel like a real community!

And I agree with the reworking of the personalities, because when you play for hours on end it can get old real fast. It would be nice if the different species had additional behaviours, such as cat villagers talking about milk or coughing up furballs. :p

I don't mind having more villagers as long as they increase the size of the island to hold up to the capacity of having more than 10 villagers--or else it would be too crowded. Otherwise, I don't mind sticking with 10 villagers.

10 would be good. But since the island map is not much bigger than New Leaf and we do not yet know where the shops and municipal building will be located, we might be stuck at 8.

As far as the number of personalities go, we already know there will not be new ones in New Horizons. But they could add more depths to the ones already there.

I heard we can have up to 15 on ACNH but I can't find that info now! Someone quoted it from an article when they were reading it on YouTube! I'm really greedy when it comes to villagers, I want so many so I think you should have a choice!
You can have a full island or spacious island. I like being able to have a choice!

As for personalities, the peppy villagers would always say they were 'dreamers' so I was hoping for a dreamer personality for the girls and big brother personality for guys? Would be cute I think!
:p

Edit: (it made a post merge so I deleted the duplicate)

I'm also hoping for more than 10 villagers, 10 is too small a number. Hoping the map is bigger this time, too, since it's on console that's supposedly one of the strongest from Nintendo yet. That being said, I don't see why they'd continue retaining the watered down personalities and dialogue.

I guess we'll see what happens.
