How much sleep do you need to function?

I try to get about 7 hours, I would like to get a little more but if I stay in bed too long I almost always get a stiff neck which gives me a headache so it's just not worth it ;/ I'd rather be a little tired than deal with that.

I have no idea. I can?t even function when i do get enough sleep

Zero hours to function. But if I don't want to be told off at work for being a zombie a minimum of 4 hours is required ^-^

And I normally sleep for 6 hours, so I'm fully charged :D

I need 12 hours to feel okay, honestly... that's really bad, but it's true. Or at least that's how it was back when I any say in my sleep schedule (I'd just go to work, sleep, repeat). I have been getting about 5 hours of sleep a night because I have a 2 year old that hates sleep. I'm brain-dead, anxious, in pain, and experiencing sensory overload every day. I don't even remember what it feels like to feel like I'm functioning properly.

Not sure. I reckon any less than four hours will ruin me. But for some reason I can't stay asleep past 7am so even if I wanted to catch some snooze during the day, my body wouldn't allow me to.

Reading what everybody else has to say and now I'm seriously worried because most people are saying 5-6 hours is fine, but my brain and my body are in excruciating pain every day. But why?... :(

I usually aim for 9-10 hours, but I procrastinate frequently, resulting me in doing schoolwork in the early hours of the morning. If I was able to sleep for more than 10 hours without any issues, I would be delighted to!

6 hours is good.. then maybe i can squeeze in a 30min-1hr30min nap at day time

at least 8, but I usually sleep too much. depression is annoying.

theyve never been to greener pastures

1 - 2 hours is just enough for me to start doing things.

I usually sleep for 6 hours during the night, then take like a 2-3 hour nap after school.

Same thing applies to 4, But god knows how would I stay awake with coffee. (I ended up sleeping through fourth period yesterday AND GOT AWAY WITH IT.)

I want like 14 but I can function on 4-6 just fine. I'll be groggy and tired either way, so there's really no benefit to sleeping for 14 hours.

To properly function like 7...i can easily make do with less though.

I've been known to work hard without sleeping in 24-36 hours... once I even didn't sleep for 48 hours and still functioned through my usual day without any problems (except a few times I almost fell asleep)

It's not healthy, I know, but I usually sleep 3209432 hours a day so I guess on the days where I don't sleep at all it all balances out lmao
