I am pretty sure my average is every 7+ years that I get a new phone as I don't want to waste the money till my phone is so out of it.

Once my phone can't keep the battery or do anything then I change it.

I really try to keep things until they break in general. With phones I will even try and replace the battery pack because that’s usually the part that is problem that’s harder for iPhones so I mostly use Android phones. (Also because I have always been a non-apple person… except that my work issues us each an iPhone). That has extended the life on my phone by quite a lot. Except I’m really klutzy so I drop phones a lot and sometimes they get shattered beyond repair but I have definitely done some screen replacements on my own with kits you buy online.

The last time I replaced my phone was in 2022, and the reason being was because my phone was going haywire to the point it clicked on parts of my phone without my control.
I honestly thought my phone got hacked, but that wasn’t the case and it just does that when phones get old. (I had my first phone in 2016)

Unfortunately I lost everything I had in my old phone, but worse off my Pocket Camp save and I had to redo everything from the ground up, but I’m all caught up as when my phone died in 2022.

Only when it's completely falling apart or stopped working. I keep them until their last dying breath.

I usually keep my stuff until they're broken or close. I should probably upgrade my phone tbh. I'm still using a flip-phone 😅 , but it's so hard to make a big purchase like that when I can't afford a lot of things.

Like most things I own, phones are a "use it until the wheels fall off" sort of thing. So, whenever the phone I'm using is either no longer properly functional or has somehow been made obsolete. I've tended to not need cell phones for a good many years, usually just charging a cheap flip phone for times when I'd need it.

I have been thinking about maybe getting a proper smartphone sometime in the future since, as the years go by, it seems more appealing and like I'd get good use out it. If/when I get one, though, I don't foresee myself ever being someone to get every new model or anything and will probably stick with the same model for as long as I'm able.

I’m between selections at every 2-3 years lol. This is my second year with my current phone, and unless iPhone comes out with some massive reason that I want to go through the hassle, I’ll be keeping this one. It’s a 15 pro max, so it’s not going to be incapable anytime soon.

I will pray for my electronics until it's the end for them!! My mom's Iphone got passed down to me and I believe she made it for a good 8~ish years out of the both of us. I didn't break but the max battery capacity was so low to the point where I couldn't last a 6 hour day of school LOL

Rn I have an iphone 14 and I like it a lot! My old iphone is so much smaller in comparison when I look at them side by side LOl

It seems to be every 4 years or so. Not sure why that happens, but that's usually when the battery starts dying or I get a convenient upgrade plan.

I replace mine when I start having issues. I honestly don’t keep track or remember how long I had the phone to be able to give an exact answer to how many years, so I picked when it breaks.

Thankfully I haven't broken one yet, but that would be an immediate replacement. I like to keep using it for a long time. So far I've replaced them only when I started having performance issues that got too annoying, like not enough space, the battery no longer holds a good charge, or it can no longer get the latest apps/updates I want. I bought my current phone just a couple years ago and have none of those issues so far, so I'm probably good for awhile.

I try to go 5+ years. My last phone iPhone XR I had for 5 years before I replaced it with an iPhone 15 Plus. I still have the old one as it still works for a backup phone. I didn’t have a backup phone before and when I had to send my phone in for a battery change I had to spend a while without a phone so I’m not doing that again.

Hoping to use this phone for at least 5 years if not more.

ive had my iphone 8 for six years now and even though its a little buggy, the sole reason im changing it is because my dad has quite a good deal for a new phone plan and so im waiting for the google pixel 8 pro to restock to buy. i was planning on just waiting until this phone breaks but its a deal that i dont want to pass up and i may as well since this phone probably won't last me that much longer. ive always wanted to try going for a google pixel after this iphone! hopefully it's nice :lemon:
