i’ve never visited any up until today. i found one through a pretty popular twitch account (my friends use treasure islands pretty frequently) and decided to check one out since they always use them. i never used one prior simply because i just never had any interest to, but i'm doing some major remodeling all around my island and decided this may be an easy way to get **** done faster. my fear now is that i’m wondering how safe all of this is. i had a fear a few months ago about my data nearly being corrupted and i’m terrified of it happening again. to anyone who regularly goes, have you had any bad experiences or know of anyone that has? thank you!

I've gone on them a few times before, and have not had my save data corrupted once. NGL, when I visited one for the first time, I was pretty scared it would happen because the entire island looked like it was hacked. XD

I rely on NooksTreasureIslands for reference, so as long as you give them a shot you should be fine. Of course, it's always a good idea to use healthy skepticism just in case!

okay NooksTreasureIslands is the one i have been using today too!! i’ve seen lots of people give them good rep which is making me feel better. i also checked old chat logs in the server (paranoid level 1000) and the mods say that nothing is hacked and its all legit which makes me feel even better LOL!! thank u for your input!!

Treasure islands can be fine, but the items themselves can be weird sometimes. I once got a green Torii from one to use in my recently-built basement, but apparently the item was bugged and I can't adjust it in Decorating Mode or in Regular mode. I can also just.... walk right through the item as if it has no collision, so I just stuck it in my storage lol.

that's 100% hella poorly hacked

There are a few items that can can clog up an inventory spot for good. I would still avoid them, but I've had some other bad experiences with hackers.

yeah i did read into this, items like plot/bridge kits and other things that you shouldn’t already have. thank you for your input!

Practically if you up pick items that you can normally obtain in-game aka fruits, DIYs, recipes, furniture etc. you'll be fine but picking up like a staircase/bridge/house kit will bug your game and take up inventory space permanently throughout that save.

Same goes for things such as nook miles permits/license/reactions etc. things that aren't usually tradeable are no go. The only exception are the Sanrio Villagers where people with modded switches can effectively let you invite those villagers in your island if they know the technique how to do so.

I've not had issues. I'd be mindful of what you pick up. Make sure you don't grab a moving or construction kit. I have seen those before, but I haven't touched them. On treasure island, I've mostly went for clothes, DIY recipes, and crafted DIY cause I reset my island and I was tired of waiting for the good recipes and clothes I wanted
