I can't just give them a vacation home without a bathroom, right?

Whenever I accept a HHP vacation home request, I feel weirdly obligated to include at least a toilet and a shower - sink can be in the kitchen.
It does restrict me a bit in my designs, but unlocking another floor made me able to separate basic amenities and the design theme of the villager.

Do you feel this way as well? Or is this no problem for you at all?

Honestly, in the beginning, I used to think I would always design every single house with all the amenities (bed, kitchen, bathroom, living room) but then realising how limited the space was, I find myself sacrificing the bathroom over the others. In my head, I just think "well, they're animals so maybe they'll be okay to just..... go outside XD" But I totally understand what you mean. I really want bathrooms in all the houses too. But try not to get too hung up on it! There are around 400 characters you can design houses for! I'm sure some of them can go without, and some can have them! You have all the freedom to switch it up now and then, depending on your mood ^_^

For me, it depends on whether the house is actually replicating a home. Often one of the floors in my vacation homes is a bedroom/bathroom combination, with a partition dividing the two.

I'll usually include the bathroom if there is a bedroom area. If there's no bedroom area, I won't provide a bathroom.

I have one house that is a kitchen upstairs and a dining/living area downstairs. No bedroom or bathroom. If the house or room has a unique theme, it won't necessarily have a bathroom (e.g. a café, park, etc.)

I did some like this, but for requests like an office I couldn't even fit a bathroom hahaha I ended up making a more business-like place for one with a meeting room and work area and for Julian no kitchen/bathroom just pure Julian fab aesthetics I went crazy w/ the fantasy look all throughout made me realize you dont need amenities lol. I try to incorporate different stuff now. It is tricky not going 2 floors and giving a bedroom though :' )

Wow your villagers are getting toilets? I made poor Becky basically just a stage to practice with her choir on. No beds, no toilets. If she wants to sleep she’s going to have to kip on the panino bench

I am the same way. I want every house I decorate to have a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Glad we can have an upstairs for them so I can have their downstairs be their theme. Still have to go back and fix some of my earlier houses.

For me, no matter how much I enjoy a game, I don't forget that's what it really is. A game. Not real life.

In this way, I can suspend disbelief and give an islander a vacation home that is exactly what they ask for. If they don't specifically mention they need a bedroom or a bathroom, they don't get one. 🤪

I usually don't give them bathrooms. If we could have more rooms, I'm sure I'd include them more, but since I usually do just one room, no. Just going to pretend they have other rooms.

At first I started doing actual homes, like w bedrooms, kitchens, etc. But the more you play, they become more specific, so you stray away from a typical home and more like bars, restaurants, train stations, etc

I'm not a fan of designing bathrooms, so it's not something I do. I have taken to giving them upstairs bedrooms, depending on what they want their house to be, though.

I do always try to at least give them a place to sleep! A kitchen only if I have room to waste (and if it makes sense in their theme.) If not, well... We do have a restaurant. As for bathrooms, those are usually at the very bottom of my priority list. I find them kind of boring to design, anyway. Maybe once I unlock extra rooms it'll be easier to work them into the designs?

The most that I do when designing rooms is to offer a bed. I don't really include a bathroom or kitchen unless it is a part of the theme.

I think missing a place to sleep is the one thing that really bothers me regarding villager houses. It can be a bed, a hammock or even a haybale. Just something that looks like something that you can sleep on. A little kitchen area is also kind of important to me too. Whether it's an actual kitchen stove/sink, fireplace, microwave, or a campfire inside/outside.

Missing bathrooms don't bother me that much. They can potty outside lol.

I’m sure I would always include a bathroom in my rooms depending on what the room is. If it’s a bedroom sort of room, of course it would have a bathroom. However, if it’s a restaurant or a reading room, I don’t think a bathroom is necessary. I’d think since they’re virtual animals, their “need to go” would just disappear? I don’t know.

I don't include a bathroom because very few villagers have a bathroom in their regular home, so they must figure something out 🤷‍♀️

I do try to include a bed for them, if the design is an actual house. If it's a themed house like a school or shop of some kind, I don't worry about it. I don't have the second floor unlocked yet, so the space is pretty limited for some designs. Once I get the second floor, I'll probably use that as an "apartment" above the themed houses with a bed and a bathroom.

I usually don't include a Bathroom unless it makes sense with their request. They are here to vacation and have fun, not live.

To be fair, it seems like a lot of people have a similar issue with bedrooms!

Personally, I've tried to make some houses more "house-like" (usually just a bedroom and kitchen) but it gets kind of boring to try to include the same items over and over again. I just roll with their requests now so if it's something that's not very house-like, I take the opportunity to just be creative.

this isn’t an issue for me. unless it fits the theme, i have a tendency to not think about including a kitchen, a place to sleep, a bathroom, etc. 😅

Not really a bathroom, but always a source of food/kitchenette, and a bedroom. I unlocked the second floor option, so those are becoming bedrooms (though I was forced to do Stu after Lottie had to leave breifly, so I just gave him one floor, and did a minimal job. I wouldn't chose him anyway). Its funny, I have turned some homes to look like actual business's because of what the villagers want, and still included a bedroom.
