If you could have many other islands, how would you theme them?

To be honest, at this point, following numerous themed New Leaf towns and now this New Horizons island, I don't know that there are necessarily any themes to bind together the remaining dream villagers I haven't had as residents anywhere yet. My New Horizons island didn't acquire its historical theme until after I'd already started; before that, I didn't really have any good ideas and was just going to go with a "tropical island" theme. I'd probably just forego a theme for an additional island and just pick whoever.

A full on nature/forest theme with natural looking villagers.

A urban/bar district theme, lots of band/music equipment and music/alternative themed villagers. Would definitely have so many smugs here because of that. Kyle, Eugene, Cyd, Tiffany, Cherry to name a few villagers that would fit in.

A theme that just screams Mexican, there's a surprising amount of items that can fit here. Would have villagers like Lucha and Avery.

A horror/goth theme, a huge favorite of mine for sure. Muffy, Coco, Lucky, Pietro, Rosco all come to mind.

If there were plenty of islands that could be made I'd get real crazy and theme some after movies/shows/books/games/ect.

A Kaiju island is actually something I wanted to try out, but didn't want to ruin my island by terraforming. For a throwaway island I'd definitely explore this idea. A kaiju island where the only ones are Godzilla and Mothra 😂, though, could use some of the dino fossils for Rodan, Anguirus, Gamera, Titanosaurus etc.

I currently have a non-themed island of just whoever I stumbled across that I really like (thought I guess I kept up a mini theme of completing the octo-trio, if that counts...) If I were to have themed islands here are a couple of ideas I had in mind:

> a cafe/restaurant island complete with villagers themed after food, such as Zucker, Merengue, Chadder, Tangy, Ketchup, and Frita, to name a few

> an island themed after the Animal Village from the 2006 Animal Crossing Movie, complete with the villagers who appeared in the movie: Rosie, Margie, Alfonso, Apollo, Whitney, Cesar, Cyrano, and Hopper (Sadly no Champ though... T-T)

my current island doesn’t really have a theme but i really want to have a winter themed island - i tried to make one for new leaf but by the time i was done with the game, that town had been left pretty unfinished.

but i feel i have a lot more options for a winter-themed town, now, and have even been jotting down ideas for it - i’d have illuminated furniture everywhere, an ice rink with frozen furniture and was even thinking of having a ‘mall santa’ type area near the shops if i could figure out how to implement that aha. if i ever decide to invest in another switch and copy of the game, i’d definitely be going ahead with this theme.

i wouldn’t mind an autumn themed island, either, with pumpkin patches and farmland and a graveyard, stuff like that. autumn and winter are my favourite seasons in animal crossing and i’d love to be able to have entire islands dedicated to them ;u;

As I'm theming my island now to be morw natural, I'd say my other island would prbably themed modern style with cool looking villagers or smth, or a more realistic japanese rural island kinda inspired on the ones I saw somewhere on facebook before lol

id probably actually go full into the overgrown mushroom forest aesthetic of my dreams & maybe an island with food-themed villagers, dogs, and birds that just looks like a park.

I would have liked to have made a Safari/zoo island. Some kind of general laid out path that traverses through the entire island with exhibits and sections based on the villagers.
And have every villager's house surrounded by bars. 😂 Sorry. I saw your post and the thought occurred to me. But I'd feel bad.

I would probably do a horror themed island, as well as a medieval themed island. I have so many villagers that would fit these themes! Horror: Lucky, Raddle, Roscoe. Medieval: Klaus, Sterling, Knox... Realistically it would be too time consuming though haha

I’m guilty of repetition so I would honestly probably have another foresty / mountain / witchy town since that’s what I like best. Which I would like because it’s what interests me, but I wouldn’t like because I’d want to branch out and try something new.

A themed town sounds very fun but I don’t think I could stick to it! I tried to do a Silent Hill themed town in New Leaf a long time ago, but I reset to do something different because I felt it was difficult to get the theme across.

Thinking about it, a Higurashi town would be entirely plausible with all the items available. There’s lots of items to make a dump (garbage flooring / wall) + RV model for a room in Rena’s home, a shrine maiden outfit (or custom design dress) + kitsune mask + longer blue hair with bangs for Rika, etc. I would consider it for a new town!

Eventually I would like a switch lite to make another town though it’s not a purchase I can justify at the moment! It might be one of those things where when the time comes, the town may create itself in a way. There may not be a theme at all!

I'll probably wont get another island(if so 2 is the max amount of islands I'll have), but I'll probably uses one of the ideas I had planned on, but couldn't commit to for one reason or another
Heres a few
  • Yandere Sim inspired-Japanese themed island with Villagers inspired by the rivals
  • Mlp Inspired-Aside from playing as Twilight and maybe horses only,I dont many ideas here
  • Steven Universe Inspired-I got nothing for this one.XD

As unoriginal as it sounds, I like the idea of an ancient Chinese/Japanese island! I've also seen a lot of Cottagecore islands around and they all look so pretty ;u;

Boondox of WW/CF fame. No trees, minimal grass, one pond and that's it for water. Dirt everything, trash/cardboard boxes everywhere, magazines and books scattered everywhere. Billy in his original house. Villagers like Rocco that have construction sites n' junk for houses. Phoebe, who tragically plucks out her own feathers to reward donators with. The representative lives far off in the distance with a decked-out mansion, gold roses all over, gushing waterfalls... The rep is Tortimer.
This would be amazing! I was enthralled by Boondox as a kid.

I would love to have a smaller sizes island to use for a farm and orchard. I only have one of each fruit tree on my island at the moment because I just don't care for the look of them. I'm trying to incorporate them better, but it would be much easier if I could just have a totally separate farm.
