Intriguing Chat: Christmas

I'll admit that I am lazy, I'd much rather watch a movie and pay attention to what's going on than read the subtitles. It's a preference, in no way does that show disrespect. And to be quite blunt, Noiru is being disrespectful by mocking because of my comment. I simply asked if it was subbed, no need for abhorrence.

Exactly. I just felt like I had to clarify that dubs aren't just for people who're too lazy to read subtitles.

I knew your beard would be lured to this thread. It must have heard the call of other beards~

Anyways as much as I hate changing the topic from beards, I like this chat idea! I barely watch movies (idk why, I like them and everything) but I have a pretty massive DVD collection of all of my favourite movies. Right now I really want to watch all of X-Men again, but I'm missing like half of them (X2, Last Stand, & First Class). I really need to find the rest, I hate half finished collections. ;-;

Also I haven't seen Inception please don't hit me I said I don't watch movies

Same lol
I always find interest in tv shows, I don't know why, probably because the story line is extremely expanded, haha.

I understand, I'm dyslexic also, but subtitles aren't that hard for me. Reading books take me a while because I end up reading the lines over and over, so I generally read along with a spoken aloud book. It also helps because the reader isn't monotone and it kind of helps set the tone. :)

My friend has terrible dyslexia. He can't spell, nor can he read very well, but yet he still manages to prevail academic-wise. It's weird, I don't really quite understand dyslexia. To be honest, when I read I always find my self re-reading lines accidentally. Sometimes I just read and immediately realise that I'm not actually acknowledging what I'm reading, y'know? Like you're reading, but you're not taking any of it in. It's weird, tell me I'm not alone with this haha!

Yeah one of my biggest pet peeves ..or just annoying things is people who can't watch stuff in their original language and need it dubbed cause they are "lazy" lol nice respect we have here
well i mean i watch dubs because i have bad eyesight in my left eye that causes blurred/double vision so there's that :l I have nothing against subs, it's just that I'll personally go for a Funimation dub before I go to the subs.
WHO WANTS TO TALK ABOUT INCEPTION BECAUSE I SURE DO

the first letters of their names spell dreams
dom, robert, eames, arthur, mal, saito
oh wow that's crazy i never knew that. everything's a dream

I actually haven't seen inception either, what is it about?

Dreams inside dreams inside dreams. It's really cool, you should def watch it.

Not at all! I am an avid reader and actually read at quite a fast pace, have no trouble with it, etc. But sometimes if I am not in the mood to be reading or I am distracted by something else, I will stop and realize I've been reading but not actually absorbing anything I'm seeing, aha. Then I have to reread. This is why I usually need it to be quiet for me to really focus on a good book.

You're totally not, I am the exact same way. I think it happens to everyone sometimes I've just realized it happens to me very frequently unless I'm really interested.

k so I have to watch Inception now

not tonight though I don't get off until midnight ;c

Are there any other movies you guys would recommend? Or movies that you really like although they're popular?

There are so many movies that seem amazing that I haven't heard of. I'm so excited to watch them. :)
I didn't get to watching inception tonight as I took a nap then woke up to bake a cake, but I'll probably get to it tomorrow!

So some of you may still be in school, whether high school, college, or middle/elementary, but does anyone have any plans for the last day of school (if today is your last day, it's mine.) or any plans for the holidays/break? :)
I'm probably just going to be spending my time doing a TON of make up work for school because I recently had surgery and I was out for about two weeks, it sucks. :( but I'm feeling better, which is great!

Oh! Happy early birthday! I hope you really enjoy it.
My best friend is coming from Texas to South Carolina to visit me! And I'm have two "parties" in school today, so lots of yummy food. c: I also found out my grade in English went up by 18 points, and it'll be even higher once I finish my make up work.
