Is the first day boring for anyone else?

Just started up my town and have been playing for a few hours- It's been great fun, but now that I've upgraded my nook miles to + and set up Blather's tent, I have nothing else to do. I can't craft because there's no more sticks spawning, and both my rod and axe are now broken (and I can't remake 'em because of lack of resources) and I've even pulled all of the weeds! There's nothing else to do and I have the whole evening ahead of me... D: I think it's because my land is cut off from the rest of the island so I need the pole vaulter to access the rest of the island, or is this the same with all island layouts? I love the grind but it's to the point where I can't even grind anymore :( Anyone else experiencing this, or is it just my dumb island layout? (And please don't take this as hate, I already adore the game but I'm just stuck atm!)

They definitely built the first day around not being able to do too much and getting burnt out in the process.

I got my game from GameStop early which allowed me to unlock Blathers, pay off my debt, and get a feel for crafting, fishing, etc. a day early, so the 20th will progress me further. I put the game down and feel 100% content.

I think it's the same for everyone. My layout has my town in 3 chunks with 2 chunks being separated by rivers so I can't explore. I did manage to grind enough to pay off my rent, request the house be built, and get Blathers tent set up. We also aren't allowed to visit other folks yet, the DODO airport doesn't work today and I can't send postcards to other villagers either so I think they want to slow us down so we don't wear ourselves out.

I think it will get better tomorrow. That said, I had a wonderful time tonight, just fishing, figuring out my Nook phone, picking weeds, catching bugs, shopping, crafting, and all that. I am amazed that as good as fishing was in ACNL, they managed to improve it! But I am sleepy now so I'll leave this wonderful game for another day.

I'm glad that it's not a problem with the game/my layout! It'll be fine if it's just the first day paced like this, but I do hope that the pace will pick up a little in the days to come... it just sucks because ACNH came out early where I am, so it's only early evening here and I'm already done for the day... maybe I'll just start resetting for better fruit :p

You can keep shaking trees for more sticks! (Already have been stung by Wasps twice though LOL)

How did you get game early from Gamestop? Gamestop doesn't allow early releases.

The first day is very slow. But I promise it gets better! This will really pick up day 2!

Fyi you can buy flimsy tools from Tommy/Timmy, they cost 400 bells

GameStop released it today (well technically yesterday now, but on the 19th) I got mine from there too

Yeah, I actually feel really burnt out from it already. Which is strange but I guess I’m not used to it as I haven’t even played NL in a while.

I unfortunately had to double dip and buy the digital copy in order to play on release. I regret wasting my money. I’m sure I’ll love the game though. I just didn’t want to end up having to go to that extent now that I think about it. My pre-order hasn’t even moved from the state it was being posted from even though it was apparently shipped 2 days ago.

I actually had a blast the first day just collecting Nook Points, buying/selling stuff and fishing/catching bugs. Definitely is limited and I'm excited to see what tomorrow brings.

The sticks and wood types respawn, I wanna say every 20 mins. I've been grinding for supplies and have about 40+ of every wood type, and rn I have 35 sticks and I've made at least 2 dozen tools today. Honestly just check your trees every so often.

this. changes. EVERYTHING !!
Thank you so much, I didn't even know about this! Now I can re-craft my fishing rod and bug net! :D

I broke my promise of not TTing cuz it was so boring lol. imo, the second day feels how the first day should.

Remember that Animal Crossing is one of those games typically designed to be played a little each day rather than binged in long sessions. Take a break and go back to it in a few hours or tomorrow if you have had enough of it for now.

Maybe I’m just boring but I enjoyed the first day. Fished, caught lots of bugs, crafted a bunch of stuff, etc..

on the other hand i'm really enjoying it. i've been playing since it came out and i forced myself to put it down because i need to sleep at some point lol. yeah it's definitely limited the first day, but i somehow i am still really having fun racking up nook miles and crafting and hoarding materials!

I loved that first day. Yes, it felt restricted, but I had plenty to do. I did so much fishing and bug hunting. Didn't earn me as much as it should though.

No I got hooked in to the grind and kept pushing to finish the next Nook mile. It's just too addicting omg
