i know i have posted here before but i also hate the emojis. like excuse me wtf are these supposed to mean, i see them being used all the time especially on social media.
wow, it was only today that I learned people using the crying emoji somehow means they're amused/laughing. well ok.
anyway, I think any of the ones that bother me have already been mentioned. but jeez emoji spam in general is really obnoxious.
as for emojis I dislike, the cry laughing one and the hug one that... uh, doesn't convey what it's supposed to very well. it just doesn't work without arms.
I have the hockey emojis added after my Snapchat name, obviously as a huge hockey fan. I see a lot of people add emojis after their names on apps like Snapchat or Instagram and so long as it’s only one or two, it’s fine by me. I think three or more is just excessive.
People who put the crying laughing face after some passive aggressive statement or longass rant, when it's obvious they're not laughing at all, but are actually angry. It's so obvious and makes me cringe every time. Imagine if someone got up to give a TED talk on something and then just started crying laughing at themselves. It would be bizarre.
It often bugs me when people use emojis like it’s a language. They use more symbols than words, and I get left looking silly because I don’t know what they’re trying to convey.
Emojis are annoying and over-saturated. I don't mind (well, honestly, I do) when people use it to text, because it's more convenient, but even then, we had emoticons. They're much more creative, don't take much effort, and there's less of opportunity to span ten or twenty of them in a single post.
I have no problem with emoji's in general and use them often at the end of sentences or paragraphs when texting/messaging people. However I hate it when emoji's get implemented in the middle of a sentence or are used to replace words so the whole conversation looks like a secret code that needs to be cracked with cipher key.
Man this mostly is because of a certain person who talks a lot on a server I'm in, they use emojis at the end of almost every other sentence, especially when they're being salty. I'm not a huge fan of this person so maybe it has become bias but man I really have grown to hate the emoji. They also use a lot when paired when them just saying like "ah okay, nice. " when just a moment before they weren't using periods/proper punctuation a second ago so it just comes across as them being annoyed that they didn't get their way.
I'm not huge with emojis much in general but those ones in particular crawl under my skin.
