Island Living: A Photo Journal

Island/Town Name
Littlestar

No new DIY recipe to learn today! 😔 But I did dig up a new gyroid. An aluminoid. Additionally, I met Boone and Jitters on the HHP island. They used to live on Littlestar. It's so good to see them again! I built vacation homes for Boone, Jitters, Vesta (she moved in with Fang), Chadder and Petri. Petri asked for a tea terrace. (She has pretty eyes. I don't like her default glasses, so I gave her new ones.)

I know a lot of players hate on Jitters. The other day I saw a screenshot where someone made him "homeless" in HHP. Broke my heart. Others say he looks like a drug addict or a creep. Sigh. I like Jitters. Poor misunderstood Jitters. I also think he looks exactly the way I feel about the world. 😱
nov24-hhp-jitters.jpg

Pierce and Nan were having fun building a sandcastle together.
nov24-hhp-beach-pierce+nan.jpg

Today I learned the DIY recipes for orange pie and ruined seat. The gyroid I dug up was a dootoid. It's my third dootoid! 😅 On the HHP island, I met some cute new animals. I moved Sprinkle in with Wade, then built new vacation homes for Ellie, Rod and Rowan.
nov25-hhp-vhomes-tile12.jpg

At the beach, hula dance lessons were free for the guys! Look who turned up!
nov25-hhp-beach-hulawithvic+b.jpg

Another bwongoid was dug up today! I found the DIY recipes for suspicious cauldron, rope net wall and orange marmalade. On the HHP island, I built two vacation homes. One was for Peggy. She needed to be a food reporter tasting samples at a supermarket.
nov26-hhp-peggy.jpg

The other was for Sasha. He wanted a moon-themed home.
nov26-hhp-sasha.jpg

On the beach, a barbecue was going on. Look at all these happy little faces! 😊
nov26-hhp-beach-bbq.jpg

I can't believe I've crossed another milestone today. Lottie told me that 80 vacation homes have been built. I'm not rushing through the DLC. But I guess it's going pretty fast because I'm not one to dawdle over design and decoration. I don't excel at it, so I don't agonize over making it "perfect". I use the smaller sized rooms, always only a single floor, and as long as it looks good to me, I'm done. Because decorating isn't my thing, I try to build for different themes just so that I don't get bored. I think, maybe when I hit 100 homes, I'll look back and compile a top 10 list of the ones I like best. I'll probably go beyond 100 though. There are simply too many animals I like!

Today I didn't have too much time to play but I still did my rounds with all my islanders, checked my mail, drank a cup of coffee at The Roost, dug up a spikenoid (my third, actually 🤨 ) and collected some more glowing moss and vines from the island Kapp'n brought me to. At this rate, I'm pretty sure I have enough moss to craft all the glowing moss balloons I want... if only I had the DIY for it! 🤪 Speaking of DIYs, I learned to make gnocchi di zucca, apple jam and a carp on a cutting board. On the HHP side of things, I built a single vacation home. It was for Papi. He wanted lots of wooden furniture.
nov27-hhp-papi-b.jpg

At the beach, Fang was soaking up the sun.
nov27-hhp-float-fang.jpg

Yay, I took the day off from work. Instead, I spent time cleaning my house. The duster shortage is over now and I have no excuse left. The house hasn't been cleaned for over a year! 🙄
nov28-me-dusting.jpg

I did take a coffee break. And guess who popped in while I was at The Roost.
nov28-roost-orville-DALtile.jpg

When I was done cleaning, I paid Nook a visit to arrange for Claude's house to be redesigned. Claude has a starter house. It makes me happy that I can change his interior because he deserves better for sticking with me through thick and thin for over a year. Nook said I had to submit my design plan first. It'll all be done by tomorrow. 😊
nov28-claude-newinterior.jpg

I took into consideration that Claude has many buggy friends. I made sure there was space for them. He now has a compact kitchen for whipping up his favourite snacks. There's a rack of comic magazines to keep him entertained. Claude once told me his secret super hero identity is Bagel Boy Jr. And so I wanted him to have a bagel sandwich for... emergencies. Can't wait to visit him tomorrow to see how he likes the new interior!

Autumn is almost over! I know I'm going to miss all the beautiful red autumn foliage. 🥺🍂
nov29-autumn-beautifulfallfoliage.jpg

And right after I took that snapshot, guess what happened. 😯
nov29-firstsnow.jpg

Today was a good day because Kapp'n took me, for the first time, to an island with star stones! I love seeing shooting stars. While I did whack the star fragments out of the rocks, it wasn't all that exciting. Probably because the zodiac series doesn't appeal to me and I don't plan on crafting the items. Now I just need Kapp'n to take me to an island with carrots. It's the only crop I lack. Leif doesn't seem to sell it at all. 😑 On the HHP island, I built a vacation home for Henry. He said he was on a journey of self discovery. I suggested riding a train. 🚇
nov29-hhp-henry.jpg

I didn't forget to talk to Claude about his newly redesigned home.
nov29-claude-newinterior5a.jpg
nov29-claude-newinterior5b.jpg

Mission accomplished. 😃

Yay, I learned how to make coconut milk, coconut cookies, the vine hanging chair and the project table. On the HHP island, I popped into the cafe (called The Coffee Cats because the cats are in charge) and Purrl decided it was time to complain about her co-worker. Right in front of her. 😆
nov30-hhp-cafe-purrl.jpg

I built two vacation homes today. One was for Tia. It came as no surprise that she wanted a place where she could host a tea party. I kept things simple and, maybe, a little quaint.
nov30-hhp-tia.jpg

The other vacation home was for Tucker. The mandatory items indicated an exploratory dig site. But I convinced Tucker that being an archaeology professor meant he needed an office to deal with the inevitable paperwork.
nov30-hhp-tucker.jpg

Today I did not find a single new DIY recipe to learn. But I did dig up two new gyroids because it snowed yesterday. A ringoid and a tremoloid. They're cute! On the HHP island, I built two vacation homes. One was for Stitches. He wanted to be surrounded by colourful furniture and toys. (Flowers are a custom polish effect I made.)
dec1-hhp-stitches.jpg

The other was for Fuchsia. Something to remind her of the good old times.
dec1-hhp-fuchsia.jpg

Last snap of the day belongs to Fang and Monique. Floating on the gentle waves while contemplating the meaning of life, on the very verge of realizing they weren't wearing sunblock.
dec1-hhp-float-monique+fang.jpg

I wanted to join my soup-drinking islanders at the plaza. I didn't have any hot soup at the ready, so I drank my freshly brewed hot coffee instead. Wendy wasn't amused. And Lucky laughed at me.
dec2-onlyhavecoffee.jpg

In HHP news, I was made Legendary Designer today! I now get paid 30,000 poki for every vacation home I build. Not a bad deal at all. My first of two clients was Murphy. He wanted a small-town factory. I don't enjoy designing a factory interior but I do find Murphy very cute for a cranky.
dec2-hhp-murphy2.jpg

The other client was Dora. I went for a blue-and-yellow farmhouse theme. Light from the setting sun outside cast a warm, cozy glow on everything inside!
dec2-hhp-dora3.jpg

Found Jacques and Boone, both ex-Littlestar residents, enjoying a quiet respite on their floaties. I miss them both. So glad they're now where I can see them every day if I wanted to. ♥
dec2-hhp-float-boone+jacques.jpg

Today, I learned that school can be violent. Should I look for a replacement for Sprocket as schoolmaster?
dec3-hhp-school-sprocket.jpg

My job entailed building a vacation home for Bob. He wanted lots of flowers. I went for a natural-wood-and-green combo for that fresh springtime feel.
dec3-hhp-bob.jpg

Two days ago, when I saw Monique at the beach, she was floating with Fang. Today, it's with Dobie. Can I surmise that Monique really likes hanging out with the wolves?
dec3-hhp-float-monique+dobie.jpg

Claude's letter made me 15 different kinds of happy! He's my oldest resident since he's the only remaining one of my first 5 original move-ins. I love this little guy and I'm happy when he's happy. Guess what he enclosed with the letter? His photo. This is the third time I've received a photo from him. ♥
dec4-claudeletterafterbirthday.jpg
In other news, I built a vacation home for Sylvana. I've not met Sylvana in WW or NL, so my first time seeing her had me going, "SO CUTE! OMG SHE'S A MOCHACCINO!" I mean, her colouring! She is a mochaccino given life. If I ever meet her on a mystery island, I'm definitely inviting her to Littlestar. 😊
dec4-hhp-sylvana.jpg

I took the day off from work and spent the morning with a book. I like getting to know books.
dec5-leavefromwork-read.jpg

In the afternoon, I put in a request with Nook to redesign Fuchsia's home. Fuchsia's a rocker and a rebel before she came to Littlestar. I kept a few things that are dear to her, like her workbench and rock guitar and amp. I also made sure she has a stove so she can whip up experimental interesting new dishes like she likes to do.
dec5-fuchsia-redesign.jpg

Before the day was done, Lucky visited me. It was his first time.
dec5-visitor-lucky.jpg

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GOJO SATORU! 🥳♥ Oh. What. Ah. I see. Okay. Wrong fandom. 🤪

So yesterday, I learned how to make jarred bamboo shoots and fruit cupcakes. On the HHP front, I built a vacation home for Diva. I like Diva. She was one of my starter islanders. Her theme: a mystical power spot.
dec6-hhp-diva.jpg

Today, I learned how to make the vine bench. I'm starting to get repeated DIY recipes for the glowing moss series. It's a little frustrating because I still haven't found the glowing moss balloon DIY. An area on my island has already been cleared for a bazillion of those things! I need to find it soon. 🥺 On the HHP island, Eunice said she wanted a warm winter vacation home. A job I couldn't refuse. I love furnishing a room in warm, cozy tones.
dec7-hhp-eunice.jpg

I popped into the medical centre to see if things were okay and found an agitated patient. I don't know... I don't think it's possible for Dobie to look silly. Ever. 😅
dec7-hhp-hospital-hamphrey.jpg

Last but not least, Lolly is leaving. She will be missed. She has always been sweet and sensible. I'd go so far as to say she's been the only normal islander on Littlestar!
dec7-lolly-leaving.jpg

This means I'm going mystery island hopping tomorrow. I'm not looking for anyone in particular this time, so whatever happens, happens. 🏝

Built just one vacation home today. Derwin wanted a place where he could study well. Took the opportunity to try out the stickers-as-windows trick. Had to draw my own windows because I no longer have an online subscription so I can't download someone else's. That's also the reason why I've been making my own custom polish effects. You make do. 😑
dec8-hhp-derwin.jpg

I popped into the Coffee Cats cafe. Raymond was working the day shift. He also had a confession to make. 😅
dec8-hhp-cafe-raymondneedshelp.jpg

Mystery island hopping was uneventful until this little guy popped up. Donk donk! ☺
dec8-cephalobot-cometolittlestar.jpg

So I bumped into Marlo at the aquarium today admiring river fish big enough to eat him without a fuss...
dec9-marlo-fishtalk1.jpg

... and it should be criminal what he had to say about the fellas. (Pun intended. 🤨🤪 )
dec9-marlo-fishtalk2-tile.jpg

In HHP news, I furnished two vacation homes. One was for Kiki. She wanted to be the chef of a seafood restaurant.
dec9-hhp-kiki.jpg

The other was for Sherb. This is the home I would've given him if he were still living on my island.
dec9-hhp-sherb.jpg

Today, another milestone was reached. After I'd built vacation homes for Kitty, Aurora and Alli, Lottie informed me that we've crossed the 100 vacation homes mark! 🥳
dec10-hhp-100vhomescompleted.jpg

I guess time does fly when you're having fun. And the most fun I had was meeting Kitty. She was absent in WW and I never met her in NL. I think she's cute! (I also just have a really soft spot for cats.)
dec10-hhp-aa-kitty.jpg

Back on Littlestar, Joey had a scary story to tell me. 😮
joey-myscar1-tile.jpg

He's always looking on the bright side. I have so much to learn from the little guy. I wanted to hug him right there and then! ♥

Exactly right, Raymond, exactly right! And I think I need to introduce you to my favourite ice cream, espresso croquant, from Movenpick. It's practically eat-able coffee. ♥
dec12-roost-ray2.jpg

Today I built a vacation home for Gayle. I went for a blue-and-red theme. It's something new for me, so it was a lot of fun to do.
dec12-hhp-gayle.jpg

Today, Antonio wanted a simple vacation home. So I kept it simple. And hopefully not too boring. The tockoid on the chest of drawers is my newest gyroid find. I just need to discover 5 more new ones to complete the collection.
dec14-hhp-antonio.jpg

I popped into the medical centre. Oh, Greta, I want to hug you. 🥺
dec13-hhp-hospital-greta2.jpg

There was a BBQ party at the beach. Look at those beautiful smiles! ☺
dec14-hhp-beach-bbq-joeyandfriends.jpg

Still can't believe I found the glowing moss balloon DIY. I feel like I must've used up at least 5 years' worth of luck on that one. 😅 Today I built a vacation home for Muffy. That was fun. I rarely use dark colored wallpaper. I prefer a bright, well-lit home. When I was younger, I was all about "mood". So I liked soft lighting. The type that makes you look warm and soft and young and glowy, but would slowly kill your eyes to read anything by. Now that I'm older, I'm all about bright lights. Light that makes it seem as if it's high noon in my room even when it's 1am in the morning. 😎 Or maybe age has nothing to do with anything. It's just me. 😑
dec16-hhp-muffy.jpg

Also, I bumped into Teddy at the island shop. Like, wow. He is living a charmed life, that's for sure!
