Join Date Anniversary Thread

today marks 6 years of me being an official member of these forums!! i was an occasional lurker on here for a long time before i ended up making my account. at the time i really wanted to join but was always too nervous and anxious, but im so glad that 6 years ago on this day i decided to take the plunge and become a part of this community. ive met some of my closest friends here and have had the pleasure of knowing and interacting with so many amazing people. i made a lot of great memories and can look back on so many different times of joy, happiness, and fun ive had here over the years. i hope to continue to be an active member of this community for a long time coming. despite any breaks i may take, i can always see myself coming back here. here's to many more years on the bell tree!! 🎉

Today is my one year anniversary here on TBT! 1️⃣🥳
Wow time really flies. I randomly came across the forum looking for more people to play with during the final days of New Leaf's servers, and I was just starting New Horizons around the same time so I wanted to find out more about that too. I definitely managed to do that, and besides Animal Crossing, I found people to play with and discuss Pokemon, Splatoon, and other favorite games, among many more topics. And I got to enjoy participating in some of your other fun events. I'll be honest, up until I found TBT it was difficult trying to find a good online space to discuss games and arrange online play sessions with others. This community is so refreshing compared to many other places online I have seen so far, and I have had nothing but positive interactions with the members here. I only wish I could've found TBT much sooner. I'm looking forward to a second year, and many more!

As of today, I've been a member of the forums for a decade!

The past ten years have been fun. While I initially joined for the purposes of acquiring villagers, furniture and clothing in New Leaf, I'm glad that I expanded my view past that narrow section of the forum and started participating in the events. The collectibles got me hooked and the events are a great way to spend some time. Though I keep to myself a bit, the community for the most part feels kind and, as such, the forums are a nice little refuge for me. Over the past few months, I've been getting past my social anxiety a little and been active in Dunquixote's unofficial Among Us sessions on the weekends and have been glad to have such pleasant interactions with everyone who plays. I've grown more comfortable and confident when interacting with people thanks to the great people and the welcoming atmosphere.

Thanks for everything, TBT.

Here's to another ten years! 🥳🎉

Can't believe I have been here for 5 years. I still remember making an account a month later after New Horizon's release and staying here that time. It was only in 2024 and later on when I got more active again, similar to when I joined in 2020.

Happy 5th anniversary to me! 🥳

Seems like yesterday and also so long ago..

I don't think I was super active at first, I mostly came to trade New Horizons stuff and wasnt until much later I became more invested in the events and collectibles.

During these 5 years I had my ups and downs but thought all I had this forum to distract me or even cheer me up, that means more to me that I can put in words.

I still have ways to go, I'm not the most sociable or approachable person but I hope I can stick around and improve myself for some more years here in TBT. ❤️

today marks 10 years since I've joined the forums!

I remember I joined this community after I recently discovered animal crossing: new leaf from watching a let's play on YouTube and after I recently purchased a new nintendo 3DS XL just to try the game out for myself. it was my first time playing handheld / nintendo games since the DS lite era, and playing new leaf both delighted me and made me look forward to my days. I loved trading villagers and items and participating in events, which I still participate in every so often. it's been fun! here's to 10 💚

Tomorrow (in my time zone) will mark 4 years for me.

One year specifically of actually being an active user.

I'm absolutely going to forget if I wait until tomorrow so I'm just going to make note of it here and now.
Oh, I just realized that it’s tomorrow! Your join date is the same as mine so mine is also tomorrow, and I’ll also probably forget lol. That means I’ve been here for two years! 🥳

Oh, interesting! Thank you for pointing that out. I never noticed we had the same join date. I usually do take notice of small details like this but I suppose this one slipped me.

Happy anniversary to you too! 🥳

Yesterday marked my 10 year anniversary. I joined tbt in 2015 🙂.

I don’t remember much from the time aside that I joined here to trade for items like the 7-11 set for ACNL.

My first friend I made here was @RedTropicalPeachyFish (I hope you’re doing well 🫶). She had helped me so much when I was playing NL still and was nice to talk to ☺️.

It’s hard to believe this much time has passed by since I’ve joined here. Initially I didn’t participate in much of the activities for events and was more reserved, but over time, I’ve gotten more comfortable here. I’ve been participating in more activities even ones outside my comfort zone like the art activities.

Since then, I’ve made so many more friends and even started hosting some game sessions 🙂 - both things I never thought I would do since I am not good at socializing. I’m really hoping to stay here for as long as possible and continue hosting sessions since they’ve been so much fun; I love the silly banter we have ☺️.

Woah, I saw this post and decided to check to see when my join anniversary was. Turns out I also hit 10 years, like 6 days ago! Happy 10 years to us!

I vividly remember joining TBT, and I remember so many memories over the 10 years. Feels like an absolute lifetime. Thank you to everyone who's been a friend and made the past 10 years here my internet home!

I can't believe I still play Animal Crossing, not as often as I did when I joined (was an obsessive New Leaf fan!), but even this week I booted up my island to hang out with some friends in multiplayer. Wow, I can't wait for the next one!!

Today marks my two year anniversary! Somehow managed to accumulate over 7k posts in that span (okay, most of them are in basement games as I get bored frequently), so it's pretty safe to say that I enjoy being here.

I wish I joined during the peak of New Leaf or New Horizons, but at those times I felt uneasy about publicly sharing my interest for the former and had to deal with personal panic attacks for the latter. Now that I'm fully unashamed about being a fan and got to know several wonderful TBT users along the way, I'm going to make it a goal to put some more effort into utilizing the next game's online services and make more online friends. The Animal Crossing community in general has some of the kindest, most interesting and relatable people I've ever met online.
And a welcome change from the occasional toxcicity that is the Grand Theft Auto community lol

@Dunquixote @BetsySundrop (and Birdie) @azurill @Xara @Shellzilla_515 @Halloqueen @.: Meri :. @S.J. @VillageDweller

And yes, I must tag a few of my fellow Among Us regulars and shout them out (apologies if I forgot someone obvious!). Not only are you all amazing for making me feel included, but you also give me something fun to look forward to on the weekends. Even though I'm still figuring out how to reduce my real life loneliness, the fact that we're all getting to know each other as a group of online friends is truly special. Maybe one of these days we can branch out into playing other games together!

I understand that I'm an introvert and may not be the most outgoing or happy person ever (and I tend to take long leaves from certain subforums), but that's what makes me human, right? I've still got things to accomplish to improve my overall image, and I think that by being here, I can continue to mute out most of the craziness of the world and focus on the things that make me happy. I appreciate all of you for making me feel like a part of something. Animal Crossing rocks.
