Last questions about villagers I'm asking myself...

Will villagers be spread out over an island that gets bigger through progression,
or will villagers be spaced between the horizons of islands?

I'm really hoping for 25 villagers so I fit them on a map...
Obviously, when terraforming, it'll be much easier to move villagers around to fit in places that I want for the island so it won't be messy like this map. The purpose of this map was only to fit 25 villagers on but there's plenty of space!

But if you do get to unlock other islands that may be smaller and can keep in contact with villagers you have housed there, that would be pretty amazing because you'll be designing other islands too! ☆

Edit: 25 cap but you can have lower than that you don't need to actually have 25 unless you want to ☆

If you get fruit for 25 villagers, and get stuck somewhere, that's half a day gone. LOL

I guess I could always just dose some of them up with medicine so they sleep longer (*≖︎ .̫.̫ ≖︎)

I think 25 villagers is too much because if you have eight humans on your island, it should be too small (if you want to add furnitures outside for example)

12 should be great for me.

But I hope in the future we can unlock another island. Imagine an artificial one you can join by crossing a giant bridge !

Unpopular opinion, but 10 really is the sweet spot for villagers. 12 is the most I'd personally accept as "OK", though.

Remember, the bigger map means more room for creative projects that island owners can come up with that are not blueprints given to you by the game. Many people are going to use the extra space to build parks, gardens, recreation areas, minigames, etc.

25 villagers is excessive. That's ~3 villagers per personality. Keep in mind that dialogue will not be much different (if different at all) from villager to villager. A lot of these villagers will get stale quickly.

I know a lot of people want 12-15 villagers (which I'd be fine with), but I feel 10 is a fine number. You get one villager for each personality and two more. 12 would be perfect since you can have a few villagers to cycle with a set villager for each personality. But, 25 is a lot. And, looking at the map, you haven't left yourself much space for anything.

That's what I want.
Room for projects.

I'd be ok with ten villagers.

I'd rather have an awesome looking landscaped island and a handful of good villagers, than a cramped island with a stack of villagers and very little PWP's.

There going to add new personalities so maybe that won't be the cap now but it might be after the update in the future and I did update my post to say that it's a cap and you don't need to have that many of you don't want them (๑•́ ₃ •̀๑)
Also, after designing my island the way I want it I can fit them in around projects since we can do that now ☆

I really personnaly want 12 villagers but I'm thinking... and I'm afraid we'll not have enough place after all for all the outside furnitures ! Because we can have 8 characters as well ! This is twenty houses on the map, nine less than that map if I'm not wrong. Should it be that crowded too ? I need to check.

Honestly, even 15 is a bit much considering you can have 8 human characters. 10-12 is a good number.

The map may be 7 by 6 acres, but even 25 is too much lol

Most of us would definitely remember them saying that, and I definitely don't remember hearing that in any official media. We can alter our island, but that's it.
