honestly, i'm kind of worried about the state of the open world -- from the trailer footage we've seen, it looks and feels kind of empty. i'm sure GF will add sidequests and hopefully little things to fill in the gaps so that the world isn't Just empty scenery and pokemon with nothing else to interact with, but i can't help but worry a bit so far.

SO TRUEEE. Like in all the trailers the world feels like empty? Not much then a few trees grass and pokemon. I wish it was more lively? I do not play much pokemon as I only ever played X, Ultra Moon, Shield, and Let's go and I only completed Lets go but I think I will try it! I hope that its fun. I know this will sound dumb but the game looks like its coming out on the Gamecube because of those um... interesting graphical choices.

I’ve been eyeing it for a while and wasn’t sure about the graphics, but the latest trailer has sold me on it. I’m pretty excited! I haven’t felt hyped about Pokémon since XY came out on the 3DS, these games look like they will be a lot more enjoyable than the cookie cutter baby games they’ve been making the last decade.

I’m already hooked on this game, so I can’t wait to get it once it’s released. I just hope I can be able to dodge those Pokémon attacks and not black out too often. Other than that concern, it looks like a really fun game!

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. Theoretically it can be a very interesting project and it's definitely nice to see a Pokemon game with a goal of exploration, rather than "beat the bad guys because they're bad and become the champion because why not". Not gonna get it day 1 tho, I think it's better to wait and see how it's going to turn out. And if this game will live up to my expectations (not very high expectations), I'll get it

Hisuian Starters have leaked! I could post them here but that would spoil them for some people. Hisuian Typhlosion looks very meek. Hisuian Decidueye looks fluffy. Hisuian Samurott looks the best of the 3 but is still a quadruped.

So screw it, I caved and I'm going to play this. Disappointed in myself for not sticking to my guns, but hey it might end up being fun.

Hey, I was originally not going to get it, mostly due to the lack of... marketing by Game Freak for the game. But after seeing what I've peeked at, I'm convinced its worth buying.

OST is incredible, the game looks genuinely fun... I also heard it is pretty difficult at times and isn't afraid to cover more 'adult' topics such as death.

It says a lot, considering I've always been the type to be hesitant to purchase a game since they're 90$ for me.

If its any concern to you, you can buy most items instead of crafting them. But more 'premium' items will still have to be crafted. Early reviews have so far been very positive. One "Poketuber" I came across had zero expectations for the game, and didn't like it, but tried it and 20 hours later he was really enjoying the game.

No problem. If you wanna a watch an honest review, of which I assume is relatively spoiler free, "aDrive" uploaded his review of the game going over a few things on the game. But, if you don't wanna take the risk by listening to his opinions, this is the summed up version minus any opinion:



Sound: 10/10
Graphics: 7/10
Gameplay "Loop" (repetitiveness of gameplay; lower is bad): 9/10
Story: 9/10
Difficulty: 8/10
"Shiny Hunting": 10/10
(aDrive is a shiny hunter, so this was his own sort of bonus category based on his own experiences in searching for shiny pokemon in the game)
Replay Value: 9/10

Overall: 8.9/10


And, to be honest, I was on the bandwagon of not caring for this game and was not going to get it like I didn't get Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. But after glancing at some leaks of the game, and recent trailers The Pokemon Company has released, its convinced me that the game is worth giving a try.

This game has a 86 on Metacritic. I haven't seen a Pokemon game scored that high since Pokemon X and Y from 2013. That must mean that the game must be really great. As much as I wanted a physical copy because of that gorgeous box art... this is the exact reason why I opted for digital.

Also, there's a small patch (1.0.1; ~50MB, minor improvements/adjustments to enhance gameplay according to JPN patch notes) that was released about an hour ago for those who have pre-loaded the digital version.

I'm on vacation right now so I won't be able to play until this weekend. I'm glad they're patching for the digital copies ahead of time. I can't wait to play this game. It really will be a whole new experience.
