Pokémon Legends Arceus General Discussion

I started my copy! I haven’t made it very far yet. Have only received my starter and am at the first mission site. I’ll be playing more tomorrow or another day. I have enjoyed what I’ve seen so far of the game. We’ll see if that holds up as I continue to play.

Happy release day!

I'll be picking up the game at lunch but won't get a chance to play it until I get home after work this evening. I look forward to it though! :D

Love this Spiderman reference

I'll be playing my digital copy first thing tomorrow. I plan on getting Cyndaquil. Hisuian Typhlosion is growing on me, I can feel his chill vibes.

I am so disappointed. I preordered a copy from Gamestop months ago, but according to the tracking page, I won't be receiving it until Monday. I'm so bummed. I was really looking forward to playing it this evening and over the weekend. :/

Well, I just became First Star rank and this is my team so far:

I don’t imagine I’ll be deviating much from this other than to get a better Fire type and possibly a better Electric type. I DO plan on evolving Jiro into a Kleavor and Shoji into a Wyrdeer. That way my team covers each other’s weaknesses even better. Kleavor and Pikachu/Raichu can easily take care of Flying enemies for Hisuian Decidueye. Meanwhile, Wyrdeer’s Dark type weakness is easily countered by Hisuian Decidueye, and its Bug type weakness by Ponyta/Rapidash/another Fire type. There’s a lot more ways in which my team covers each other than that, but those are the main ones.

I just got my physical copy of the game today, and I'm pretty excited to start my adventure with Oshawott 😁 so far, it's been nothing but positive reviews. A change in the 20 year old formula, I can't wait.
It really is awesome, by far my favorite Pokémon game so far (considering I took a break between Crystal and SW/SH). I picked Oshawott too! Water starter always. 💖

Been having a great time with the game so far! Chose Rowlet as my starter - and after playing for 4 hours, I found a shiny Starly! I was too nervous to save the recording (since Starly has a chance of flying away if you scare it) but I managed to catch it.

It's a Staravia now - can't wait to evolve it to see that blue hair streak lol:

Alright, so I actually decided I’m going to go with a BIT of a different team because it’s better.

The team will consist of Hisuian Decidueye, Gastrodon, Hisuian Arcanine, Scizor, Wyrdeer, and Raichu. That still forms the necessary Grass/Water/Fire core while also adding some pretty good types to the mix. I know where I can get the items too to make this happen. Time to play some more!

You know, I feel constantly underleveled and I really missed that feeling in a Pokémon game.

I found myself struggling to not over level because I was trying to complete as many Pokedex entries as possible before moving onto the next story mission. Then I would get to the next area and I would be VERY under levelled. Repeat.

Turns out after the third area, the level curve really starts to pick up and at that point, I was always under levelled even when I was going around catching everything.

Alright, so it’s safe to say I have no idea what my final team is going to look like at this point. My team has gotten stronger, however. I’m in the second area still. Managed to enter a space-time distortion and come out of it alive. Here’s what my team looks like now:

I'm in the third area and it gets harder. The Lord of that area is pretty hard so I'm currently grinding my mons and completing my dex. I see you have a Haunter. If you want evolve it (like I did) you have to do lost and found quests to get MP for the Linking Cord.

You can also obtain the Linking Cord in the time-distortion areas! I managed to find one, along with some other evolutionary items (Dubious Disk, stones, etc.), within a distortion zone that spawned in the third area. It seriously saved me some MP c:

Oh yeah, I’m well aware. I’ve already started saving up MP. I may also see if I can get it in a time-distortion area. Whichever comes first. I also need a Thunder Stone for Pikachu, so whichever one I get with MP first, the other I’ll try to get from a time-distortion area.

I’ve been looking up stuff about the game as I go just out of curiosity’s sake. It seems like GameFreak really, really, REALLY poured a lot of love and soul into this game, and I think that’s great.
