Pokémon Legends Arceus General Discussion

Anyone have any tips for fighting/calming Kleavor, I screwed up the first time and my character blacked out, I couldn't doge and throw the balms fast enough it seems and my Pokémon weren't strong enough to fight him. I was star rank 1 when I tried and my Pokémon were around level 16, now they're almost level 30 and I'm star rank 3, I know I just need to try again but I get nervous when going against bosses in games lol

Honestly, if your Pokemon are level 30 for the first boss fight, you have a HUGE advantage, as most attacks will do a good amount of damage. As for the boss fight itself, here's a guide that helped me:

You really just have to dodge before it's about to attack by getting out of the way. If you wait until it's already jumping at you, you'll most likely get hit. Then when it's stunned go to town on it with those balms! :D

Thank you, I'll give it another try later tonight :)

Legends Update!

I got all the Rotom items and now my room is nicely decorated! The prices were as I predicted which means you need 300,000 Pokéyen if you want all the Rotom items.

Now I'm just trying to complete my Pokedex. Having a great time playing this game.

I got up to three stars the other day. Finally bought some clothes and changed my outfit.

Yesterday was the first time they mentioned a mass outbreak. It was Buneary but no shiny.

I haven't played much as of late due to being away on vacation for the last two weeks. I played for an hour or two on the plane but that was about it. I'm just before taking on the 3rd Noble. I also have 6 or 7 star rank. I really enjoy taking my time and filling in my Pokedex as I go.

I'm really loving this game the more that I get into it. - Caught myself a shiny Driftloon the other day, which is now evolved into a shiny Driftblim. - Really, I'm just appreciating the exploration aspect and the crafting/collecting. Not to mention, the battle system in general, being able to hot-swap moves whenever you want, attacks like hypnosis not automatically meaning your Pokemon or opponent is fully asleep, etc. There is so much to love here. They really made a more realistic experience. This is what all of the games should be moving forward, IMO.

I picked up Legends: Arceus on release day, beat it on the 6th, beat the post-game missions and hit the Full Star rank on the 20th and finally got around to hitting research level 10 for all Pokemon yesterday. I've had a fun time with it, it has definitely scratched the open world Pokemon itch well (even if it isn't a fully open world, lol). I've enjoyed exploring the world, hunting down Pokemon and grinding out the research tasks. It's been nice that I haven't needed to just assemble a team from the get-go and instead have been able to just rotate Pokemon in and out as I've needed. It's definitely a great Pokemon game, and I'm hoping we'll see more Pokemon games like this in the future.

Anyone playing the Daybreak DLC yet?

I'm wondering if I should download it right now because I haven't beaten Volo yet

I’m preparing for the third lord battle. From what I’ve seen from videos, this one looks tough! I have a few questions about it.
-Can your character accidentally fall into the lava?
-My dodging skills suck, are there any other pokemon that charge at you or have lazer-like attack animations? I will practice dodging them first.

^ That battle wasn't too bad from what I remember. I honestly don't know if you can fall into the lava...but I never felt too claustrophobic during the battle. It always felt like there was adequate room to maneuver once you figured out the pattern...IMO.

No, you can't fall into the lava. However, the stage isn't that wide, so it's easy to get hit by Lord Hisuian Arcanine if you don't dodge.

As for your second question, I don't know the answer to that off the top of my head.

Man...not that I'm complaining, but...shinies are SOOO easy to find in this game. I've found three so far...all of which have occurred almost instantly upon arriving at an outbreak site. My first one was just a random Drifloon without an outbreak. I thought "wow...I got so lucky". Then I went to an outbreak of Wurmple and found a purple one right away. Then I grabbed a Hisuian Growlithe last night from another outbreak, which I already evolved into Arcanine. - After seeing how frequently these seem to appear, I'm now going to visit every outbreak site I see. Lol.

The only real stress with shinies in Legends Arceus is that some of the timid ones might run away before you can catch them...or another Pokemon might KO your character before you can adjust your hunting strategy. Otherwise...this is the easiest that shiny hunting has ever been. It's crazy.

I’m glad some people are finding shinies easy. The only shiny I have is ponyta. Even the mass outbreaks I go to don’t have any. I was trying to find a shiny pachirisu during an outbreak but no luck.

there are guides and videos out there showing how to maximize odds of finding shinies in the game. it's worth checking out. also, the new update lowers shiny odds, so you may want to delay installing the update.

Thanks wish I had know that before I updated . That’s probably why I’m not seeing that many.

Not going to update with photos tonight but all I have to say is that I'm almost done setting up my anti-Volo team. My Jolly Alpha Garchomp just reached 100 and soon my Timid Porygon-Z will follow suit.

Lv100 Timid Togekiss - Spiritomb, Garchomp
Lv100 Jolly Scizor - Roserade
Lv100 Jolly Infernape - Lucario, Roserade
Lv100 Jolly Garchomp - Garchomp, Arcanine
Lv100 Bold Dialga - Garchomp, Togekiss, Giratina
*Lv100 Timid Porygon-Z - Giratina

Its looking pretty good so far. Level grinding is a pain in this game. If it wasn't for the Exp Candies it would be a lot worse.
