I guess I can throw in some extra meaning to this, too: the lighter and darker colors signify the good and evil in each thing. So basically it's a metaphor saying that no person is pure good, or pure evil. There's a little bit of both in everyone.

We'll call that inspiration... to an extent. I love Van Gogh, he's my favorite artist.

This is a tad creepier than starry night, which is saying something, because starry night is pretty scary.
