So, today was Pietro’s last day on Lenù. It was pretty sad to be honest.

I let him go because I want to island hop for Erik, but I really wanted to send him away with someone, the thought of leaving him to the void was so depressing...

Against my better judgement I decided to try and get a couple bells to work on my island out of the situation... Thing is, I forgot to renew my Nintendo Online Account (I had the month-long one just to test it out, since I’m not super comfortable with online subscriptions), so after I had actually sold him I had to cancel the trade because I couldn’t even give him away... Luckily the buyer was super sweet and understanding of my mistake.

Call me superstitious (I am ) but I’m taking this experience as a sign that I shouldn’t do this again. I gave away Diana and Beau before and it made feel so happy to see how grateful the other people were to finally get their overpriced dreamies... Selling Pietro just made me feel kinda guilty.

And I've sold villagers before too. I got an absurd amount of TBT for Marshall years ago. Maybe I just feel this way about Pietro because I had an actual connection with him... Or maybe it's because I don't have the bells to dry my tears on... The ethics of trading virtual animals is surprisingly complex...

How do you feel about selling villagers? Have you ever given away any villagers considered to be “valuable” or “popular”?

I don't necessarily feel like there's anything wrong with selling a villager. I haven't done it myself, but it's really just because online trading is stressful to me rather than because I feel like it's unethical. I haven't done a ton of stuff online. Eventually I'll probably start trying to trade for different item color variations, but I'm not really looking forward to that.

I won't miss Spring too much because I'm excited to be one step closer to my favorite season: Autumn! I can't wait

I think that in the fall I'll have to rethink some of my town as well. I just laid down a ton of new flower custom designs and I'm not sure how they'll look with a not-green backdrop. Still really looking forward to it though!

Same here! I hoped that when they added Reese and Cyrus maybe they would serve that purpose, but it seems like they're only going to be used for the wedding event...

Hello!

Thought I’d give a little update today...

So, I didn’t actually go island hopping this week as I hoped, I accidentally got a villager from 〜The Void〜. His name is Samson, he’s a gray mouse with a killer smile, kinda reminds me of Axel...

He’s not all that bad and I’ll have a pretty busy month so I’m gonna wait to TT him out and go look for Erik later.

But, what I really wanted to share is a set of designs I made that turned out surprisingly cute so I'm pretty proud of them...

One of the things that I’ve missed the most in New Leaf and New Horizons has been the observatory room at the Museum. It remains probably the coziest place in AC history and I miss being able to draw constellations in the sky.

So I was seeing a bunch of observation decks and study rooms that people have been making for Celeste on Twitter and I decided to try out if I could make a good recreation of that beautiful rug from the original observatory.

It turned out so cute that I really want to share and see if anyone wants to use it

Woke up in a great mood today lol

While in-game it’s probably gonna be raining the whole day, in real life the sun has come out for the first time the whole week. I get really depressed when it’s cold and cloudy, and a sunny Sunday was all I needed...

I’ve been fishing a lot more, trying to get me some sharks, and yesterday I managed to get my first whale shark! Then last night I caught a great white and a hammerhead, which was cool.

Also caught my first arapaima. That fish holds a special place in my heart because when I played AC as a kid it was the first fish I caught on the game that I recognised as being from my country.

They’re from the Amazon river, and here in Brasil we call them “pirarucu”. One fun fact about them that not even Blathers seems to know is that these fish have big tongues that are rough like sand paper, so we have an expression if you want to tell someone to... go to hell... you’ll tell them to go clean their *ss with a pirarucu’s tongue

Not sure why I wanted to share this here but I always find it amusing to learn about weird expressions like that lol

This week was also Reneigh’s birthday. I already covered the topic of my love for her in an earlier post, so I’ll just share these pics I took of her lately.

She’s so beautiful :’)

The last thing I wanted to share is this video I took of Bob singing at Kiki’s house. I never saw him singing before it was too cute

Congrats on a productive fishing day! I just got my first sharks the other night. They were huge! I wonder what the models look like.

Reneigh really is gorgeous. When I first saw the new villagers, I instantly picked her out as one I absolutely needed in my town. I started with Hazel and the plan was to eventually try to replace her with Reneigh, but I just got so attached to Hazel that I couldn't do it. I still think Reneigh is probably the prettiest of the Uchi (sisterly?) villagers. If I were to ever start another town for some reason she would definitely have a place in it.

You just made me like Hazel even more. I love this. Does that flower crown even exist in game? I know the dress does. I'm sending Hazel one asap. I hope she actually wears it. Gruff only wore the absolutely perfect waistcoat that I sent him once.

The dress is called 'China poblana', I think it's supposed to be a traditional mexican garment, and the flower crown is the Summer-solstice crown, it should be available to order on the Nook app with other seasonal items.

If you can't find them I can order both for you

... and yes Gruff looks pretty stylish in that waistcoat!

Hello!

So... turns out I'm kinda bad at this journal thing?

I came into this thinking I was totally going to write every other day or so, but for someone in full quarantine I've been terribly busy with school and work, as I imagine a lot of other people are as well actually. It's hard to be inspired to goof around when the end of the semester starts creeping up on you! But I'll try to do at least a weekly update to keep track of anything interesting that might have happened.

This has been a more relaxed week in Animal Crossing...

I worked on a statue garden (though I don't actually have any statues... lol) for my museum area. I'm pretty happy with it, and finally found a worthy spot to place my Moon ♥

The extra-hybrids-that-I'm-too-afraid-to-let-go-off' situation is getting pretty out of hand... They're taking over the island, which is not good but I also think that the random, colorful flowers fields look kinda pretty?

I'm considering doing a giveaway, but I'm not sure how that would work since visitors can't use shovels in this game... But we'll see I guess.

Anyway, I took my favorite hybrids and assorted them in a little garden area, so if I change my mind after giving them away I can still breed some more.

Not really a functional hybrid garden but I love how it looks...

I love all of your new pics, but especially the ones with the stone paths! I kept trying to use that one in my town, but I couldn't make it work with the rest of my stuff. It looks beautiful here though. Especially with the bright blooms on the bushes.

I totally get you with the journal consistency difficulty. I do mine in spurts. I'll have a period of time where I'm doing a lot, then times when I'm doing less.

Hello!

So, this is mostly going to be a photo dump of some things I’ve been working on.

This week I decided that I really want to try and make my island’s aesthetic more cohesive, and I want to try and do what feels right to me.
So I’m taking it bit by bit, trying stuff up, trying to be less uptight about everything. We’ll see how long that lasts lol...

I’ve been having a lot of fun mixing up fences, especially the brick ones, iron and stone and the straw fences. Also been using a lot of holly bushes and orange flowers.

I kinda wanna go with a small, rural town kind of look. Not really foresty or cottagecore but not city-like either.

So I redid my entrance to something more simple, and I’ve been testing a new look for the beaches.

The use of stone walls and white hyacinths was heavily inspired by the beautiful island of Elysium by @An0nn (♥)

I also moved the movie theatre. It was the first thing I ever built, so initially I didn't want to change it too much. But I wanted to have more variation of levels on the island because so far most of my projects have been on the ground level, so I put it up a little hill. Also added a little pond that Roald seems to be enjoying.

Now for some random stuff...

Took this gorgeous picture of Julian wearing a Ziggy Stardust inspired sweater I made a while ago. I love the colors and the patterns on it and it looks so good on him.

Also saying goodbye to Dotty today, I’m sending her over to a friend. I want to go look for Erik of course, but finals week is coming up so I might not be able to go hopping this weekend... Again...

Here’s the last pic I took of her. She’s such a doll.

And finally, I wanted to share a cute portrait I took of my Island Rep., Lila. I was considering making it my profile here but I love that photo of my dog with Bowie so much I can’t bring myself to change it...

So I’m sharing it here because I realized I haven’t really posted a lot about what my Island Rep. looks like.

Anyways... That’s pretty much it for this week! Wish me luck on my finals lol
