Ms Nintendique. Captain Paperweight. Nerds and Wyverns Weekly.
Have you ever been curious about the magazines your villagers read?
In this contest, you will either work solo or in teams of 2-3 people to produce a magazine cover and one interior page from a fictional publication you think the Animal Crossing villagers might read. The stakes? Forum bells, trophies, and the utterly beautiful rainbow star fragment collectible.
Slumber parties are a group activity! As such we are hoping to see talented artists and creative writers collaborate to bring something special to this contest. Worried about finding a group? No problem! You can either work solo or you can hop on over to the Magazine Mash-Up Teammate Finder thread in The Fairgrounds and find yourself someone to team up with.
Theme
A magazine that you think the Animal Crossing villagers would read. You have free rein on the genre.
Requirements
As a team you will:
- Create and submit a cover page for your magazine.
- Create and submit a single interior page for your magazine.
Rules
- Teams of 1-3 members only. No larger groups.
- Only one entry per user – you may not join multiple teams, nor may you submit both a solo and a team entry.
- Your entry must meet the requirements outlined in the section above.
- You can decide within your teams how you wish to divide the workload.
- Submissions can be tradional or digital as long as both pages of your entry are consistent.
- Once your entry has been submitted it cannot be edited.
- You may not use any pre-made content in your submission. Everything must be drawn by the members of your team. You also may not use animation or any other special effects.
- Keep content suitable for a PG-13 audience. If it would breach our Rules & Guidelines then it's not suitable here.
- If we feel your entry lacks effort then it will not be accepted.
How to Submit
When your entry is finished, each member of your team needs to make their own submission thread in the Private Contest and Event Submission Board. Please select "Magazine Mash-Up" from the dropdown menu and in the main body of your post include both pages of your magazine entry and the usernames of your teammates so we know that there is no plagiarism. Make sure you are submitting the same version of the images as your teammates otherwise you will all be asked to resubmit.
Entries must be submitted by Sunday the 6th of September at 11:59PM Fair Time. Please remember that you cannot edit your entries after they have been submitted.

FAQs
Q. Is there any advantage to working in a team or solo?
A: No. Your entry will be treated the same regardless of how many people work on it. The prizes will also be identical for every winner whether they entered on their own or as part of a team.
Q. Can I work in a team of four or more?
A: This is not permitted. If you are wanting to work in a team four then I would suggest dividing into two teams of two instead.
Q. Do I need to declare my team is this thread?
A: You can if you like but it is not necessary to tell us who you are working with until the point of submission.
Q: Why do all members of my team need to submit the same entry separately?
A: The system used for Magazine Mash-Up records the thread poster as the entrant. If only one user submits the entry on behalf of your team then they will be the only one to receive the participation tickets. To make sure you all receive your participation tickets you all need to make your own submission threads.
Q: What does the interior page need to include?
A: Anything you like! It could be a table of contents, an article, a letters page, etc.
Q. Can I show off my entry in this thread?
A: You absolutely may! Just make sure to submit it formally through the private submission board too. Entries that are not submitted properly will not receive participation prizes or be put forward for voting.
Q: Who will decide who wins? The staff or members' votes?
A: The staff will vote internally to nominate entries. The entries with the most staff votes will then go forward to a public poll. The recipients for the first, second, and third place prizes will then be decided on by the community.
