I was always a fan of Mario golf as a kid. The GameCube Mario golf was my favorite haha I am psyched that they added Pauline and gave Daisy her tan skintone back! I'm still debating on this game though as it has been a while since I have last played.

I've been hearing less than great reviews for this, and I don't know how that's possible. My copy just came about 20 mins ago, and I can't play it until about 10pm tonight...but, seriously, how could reviews be coming in at 2.5/5 or 6/10? The formula is so straight forward. Mario Golf games are always a blast...

I heard the same thing, that it's basically a watered down version of Mario Golf games. I really hope that isn't true. I've been holding off purchasing but am interested to hearing people's opinions of the game here.

So, I'll be honest...I was kinda quick to dismiss the game when I first played it. Something just felt underwhelming about it. But, after doing more of the story today, I'm enjoying it. It doesn't really give me the same feeling that Toadstool Tour did, but...that entire Gamecube era was magic anyway. So, yeah...I like the game.

The core gameplay is great! I normally don't play golf video games, but I really got into this one. The only thing I haven't tried yet is Battle Golf.
Pros:
- Overall very nice visuals.
- Good character roster
- Speed Golf is a ton of fun.
- Game does a good job explaining all of the mechanics.
- Split-screen play is offered for both offline and online play.
- The courses it does offer are fun.
Cons:
- Adventure Mode is very short. It took me about 4-6 hours to beat. My Switch play time is glitched so I can't see the exact amount.
- Dialogue sounds for adventure mode are very obnoxious every time a character talks as well as the Mii's overall voice.
- 6 courses isn't a lot, but I know they plan to add more later. Battle Golf really suffers from this with just one course to play on.
- Online lobbies can be very laggy. (Update: Have not had a very good experience with online at all so far. Most matches have been laggy to the point of disconnecting. I have a hardwired connection too. Update 2: I have had some consistently good matches the last couple of days playing. It just depends who you play with.)
I'll try to update this list the more I play. Overall, I don't regret buying the game. It's a lot of fun! I know the long-term payoff with update will make it worth it like I heard Mario Tennis Aces got. I've been wanting to pick that one up after playing this as well.
