This is true, actually. I harbored a rather vehement hate for all the uninspired GCN installments (and still do), but the DS game was actually pretty good. It felt like one of the N64 versions.
The Wii version was a little better than the DS version though.
It most certainly was not. Mario Party 8 was, imo, one of the worst in the series.
Seriously, the DS version is the best in years. It has everything the several GCN versions, and Wii version, lacked.
Gah, it's still sold out here. :angry:

:eek: What the *CEN-3.0-SORD* didn't the Wii version have?
It's obviously the best in the series and it's also one of my favorite games ever.

I saw a girl buy it the other day. She seemed happy when her parents were buying it for her. :lol:

...

It's freaking uninspired. The controls barely worked, the game had fake widescreen, the minis were recycled, graphics were the same as the GCN ones...

Fire Emblem had GCN graphics but you don't see me complaining.

Controls=Decent
Minigames=Fun

How many minigames can one person play?

At least FE:RD had improved textures and way better cinemas (something barely any reviewer mentions).

Most of the minigames were the same as the GCN ones.

While doing a statistics project this month, I surveyed 100 people who own a Wii. Out of those 100 people, 58 of them said they owned at least one of the games I listed. Then, I asked the question, what is your favorite game. These were the responses:

Super Mario Galaxy= 14
Mario Party 8=13
Guitar Hero III=12
Wii Sports=10
No More Heroes=7
Mario Strikers Charged=6
Wii Play=6
Other=42

The "other" games were bizarre. Games such as Ratouille and Balls of Fury. :wacko:

As you can see, I'm not the only person who loves Mario Party 8.

One person can play all the minigames.
However, up to four people can play the minigames together.

Crappy games can still sell, Snoop. Look at games like Disney Princesses...

Those people weren't reviewers, either...

That's one weird survey, Snoop. You sure people didn't pull a fast one? I mean... voting for Balls of Fury? Yeah right. Nobody in their right mind would do that.

And notice Mario Party 8's Metacritic rating. Journalists are seeing things the general public is avoiding for some reason.

Most of the minigames were the same as the GCN ones.
But most of them were unique!
Also, did you have fun playing them?
If you did, it means you enjoyed these minigames even though you've already played them.

The minigames were not only recycled, but most had waggle controls and were unresponsive at times.

I don't see why anyone would want to pay $50 for something they already played.

You can't put FE into this argument. If the story in each FE was the same, sure, then yeah... but it's not. And neither is the gameplay. Hardened FE veterans can appreciate the subtle changes, like terrain factoring into attacks, etc...

Mario Party 8, however, had no real changes. I don't count the motion control... slapping in motions isn't suddenly going to make a game better.

I fixed the survey post :gyroidsmile:

And no, I haven't noticed.

-_-
I enjoyed all the other Mario Parties which is why I purchased Mario Party 8.

62. See now?

Edit -- Wow, some of those reviews are downright preposterous. A 9 from GamePro? Yikes...
