It's obviously the best in the series and it's also one of my favorite games ever.
It's freaking uninspired. The controls barely worked, the game had fake widescreen, the minis were recycled, graphics were the same as the GCN ones...
Controls=Decent
Minigames=Fun
Also, did you have fun playing them?
If you did, it means you enjoyed these minigames even though you've already played them.
You can't put FE into this argument. If the story in each FE was the same, sure, then yeah... but it's not. And neither is the gameplay. Hardened FE veterans can appreciate the subtle changes, like terrain factoring into attacks, etc...
Mario Party 8, however, had no real changes. I don't count the motion control... slapping in motions isn't suddenly going to make a game better.

I enjoyed all the other Mario Parties which is why I purchased Mario Party 8.

More times than not when my brother and I are playing, we'll say "I hate that minigame"
Also the CPU can come back from anything. My brother and I were playing as a team against the CPU with 4 turns left. We were up 3-0 and they came back 3-2 and strangely knew where the stars were going to be, or rolled huge numbers so they could get the stars.
