I'm british, but American Politics is very close to my heart for good reasons. Today is/was the midterms, and the first polling stations closed 15 minutes ago and I'm not gonna lie im nervous as hell. im not sure if people care like i do (id hope they would) but how are you guys, especially Americans, feeling around the elections?

I'm literally staying up all night here in Britain just to see who gets majority

EDIT: I get that some of yall actually can't vote and yeah I know it sucks, but people saying they just don't know or don't care or voting is a hassle like lol okay but the earth is dying and people are dying yall probably should care

Downvoted.

Is what I'd do if we had that option here. Your post makes me angry

I'm 17 so I couldn't vote.

At what time exactly do the full results go live?

i srsly thought this thread was gonna be bout midterm exams in school lol :<

I thought the same thing and was trying to figure out what school schedule OP's school uses that they'd be having midterms now.

I'm American and voted today, though.

@Flare, it depends. Different states close their polls at different times, and it can take a couple hours for the results to come in full. I'm watching the votes roll in right now, though. You can tune in to pretty much any news station and watch their coverage.

I REALLY wanted to vote but couldn't due to a paperwork screw up. >.< fingers crossed for who I wanted to vote for though

Honestly, I don't pay attention to these kinds of things anymore. I am at the age that I COULD vote, but I'm not registered too. I don't have a drivers license so registering would be a drag. I will register thou if Oprah runs for President.

if nothing else, I will say that brian kemp being briefly denied voting access due to georgia's own voter id laws and kim davis being voted out both brightened my day

I couldn't make it out. I was in the E.R. and for some reason this makes me way more nervous about it. I hope everything will be okay.

I voted, but my state is pretty reliably blue, so no surprises. I'm watching the returns on rest of the country.

For those of you who could vote but didn't, because you can't be bothered, you do not have any right to complain about what happens for the next two years.

Voted early! Super stressed about the gubernatorial race in my state bc it's neck and neck rn and the current governor is a piece of trash so.

so outta the loop on politics i srsly thought this thread was gonna be bout midterm exams in school lol :<
yeah that's literally what I thought this thread would be about, especially since I'm sitting exams right now Dx

I voted earlier today, but I have yet to sit down and look at results. I'm worried, yet at the same time I'm also so tired of politics I don't really care what happens anymore as long as I don't get murdered by the government.

It's like a reverse christmas. I'll be glad if my choices win, but more than anything I just want it to be tomorrow so at least it will be over and decided.

I'll just post this here and see what happens, hope it at least lightens the mood.
yeah... didn't help here. just reminds me there's still at least another 2 years with that thing.
