As much as Dan is gonna cringe at this, what are current opinions on d1 elim vs no elim vote if it stays quiet?

Historically, I've never cared for Day Ones outside of **** posting simply because at most it's folks grasping for straws or posting one of those 5 questions to establish some sort of weird baseline as if that helps.

...On a more realistic note though; ideally I just want information, no matter how shoddy. While d1 is rarely bountiful on the info front you do sometimes get unexpected intel just from people chatting or throwing out off the wall theories. Just to throw an example, this whole conversation already gave me some idea on how you work despite the fact it stemmed from a (poorly executed) joke.
D1s aren't exactly something I adore though, so I'm with you on that front. Just gotta make the most of it.

I'll volunteer my ideal day 1 - voting out a wolf! I've played a few games on tbt this past year, and in 2 of those games, town snagged a wolf with the d1 vote.
One was a newbie who was nervous, and under the pressure of the d1 activity accidentally stated he was maf.
Another was an inactive person, who failed to address questions posed to them, got yeeted and ended up being maf.
I really dislike no activity, because then there's no pressure - too easy to hide.
Yeah d1 isn't great, but if everyone is too quiet and votes no elim, then d2 starts at square 1, with nothing to go on but a single nk, and no info as to why that person was targeted. No elim keeps the cop safe from accidental misyeet tho...
If you want to throw questions out- I'm game.
I still want the answer to "is a shawo a real thing".

Well since starlit didn't respond after I voted, I'm wondering how the no-shows work. Would they be replaced by d2?
Other than that, I'm thinking just list tomorrow who are my town/sus/nil and see where everyone stands on elim vs no elim. As much as I think d1 elim voting gives more info, it might be an advantage to no elim since we have a detective. I'm used to playing with fans of a bloody d1.
On the questions, it's usually just whatever you want, but don't ask for specific roles, lol. (We had that question once and one of the town power roles actually put their role).
Walks are wonderful things to get the rustbucket creaking, just me, Pokemon Go, the lovely milkyway and the existential dread that haunts me just behind those bushes that just rustled!
If you know Dan is gonna cringe at the thought of pushing an inactive as a D1 elim, why push it? I'll concede that you hoped it'd push Starlit to post, but in my past experiences D1 inactive elims do absolutely nothing for us other than some crumbs to dig into for my wishboard of conspiracy theories. If they're truly inactive they will be replaced by one of our lovely contestants sitting behind doors 1 and 2. If they show but rarely post then sure that's a trend and an elim we can debate at a later timeframe.

Hey guys - I've got some time for the game now. Just a warning, but the EOD time means that there's a chance I won't be able to do anything/have to vote 12 hours in advance (on the weekdays.) So... yeah. It's ok though, I'm super good at finding mafia.
