New Horizons F.A.Q. – Ask Questions Here!

From my personal experience, you need at least a few hybrid flowers, and more than just one color or type of flower all throughout. Just throwing around millions of red roses in a field won't cut it. Yes, you still need a certain flower amount, but that can be reduced if you have lots of hybrid flowers and more than one type or color. I don't like having a million flowers on my island myself, but if I want to maintain 5 stars, I gotta do that.

There's probably a guide somewhere on what the actual requirements are, but I don't exactly know where.
Thank you for the info! I'll see where I'm at once I'm done and just figure it out later after the events are over.

Hey, no problem. What I'd suggest is setting it up exactly how you want it, and keep talking to Isabelle while making small adjustments if you're not at 5 stars. If you're able to, I'd suggest hiding some of the unwanted flowers behind cliffs or houses, as that can help if you don't mind the odd placement.

Hello, I have a questions about the island ordinances, after enacting an ordinance, can you go back again to no ordinance at all?

Yep, just select "Drop our ordinance" when Isabelle gives you a list of ordinances to change to. Keep in mind, it still costs 20,000 bells to do that.

As someone who has never really utilized the Dream Suite feature other than a couple times for events here on the forums, I was wondering something. I visited a dream address for one of the Halloween events and I saw the person's character walking around. If anyone who utilizes the Dream Suite a lot and/or is someone with multiple player characters, do all of your characters in the town walk around in the dream or just the Resident Representative?

All the characters will be walking around the island. Some can be found inside their homes but I've found that to be quite rare and it always gives me quite a scare to find them inside, haha.

Pretty much what Pyoopi said. It's not often I go to dream islands, but when I do, I usually see all the human players walking around. I haven't encountered one in their house yet, but I'm pretty sure I'd be somewhat startled if I found them in the basement randomly.

Yeah all they do is walk around and you can speak to them but they would normally say "Welcome!" however if the player character had a comment from their Passport it will say something interesting. However, one thing to note is that the Dream Address doesn't save Wand outfits so you may find addtional player characters not wearing anything (trust me its weird when I visited myself). To get the point all player characters do walk around.

I'm thinking of making a castle/medieval/GoT/stone themed room and want the best outfit to go along with it. I already crafted the knight's helmet and the armor shoes. But I don't own any other good clothing or craft recipes yet. Any suggestions for what would go good with these?

How many different types of fruit are there? My island is pears. But I have also acquired apples. I would like to get all the remaining types, please can you advise how I can go about this. Thanks.

Hello,

I'd be willing to give you peaches, cherries, and oranges. Coconuts are widely available on every island you visit on a Mystery tour, but I can give you some if you want. Do you want to come to my island or for me to go to your island?

Also, in the future, it's best to post in the Nook's Cranny forum if you want to get or sell items.

There are 6 different types of fruits they are: Oranges, Apples, Pears, Cherries, Peaches, and Coconuts. You'll have to trade with friends to get the rest of the fruits since you said you got Pears as your native fruit and Apples are your sister fruit.

Jack has told me multiple times that minions who work really hard might get an extra reward, but I've given him so many lollipops that he gave me Jack's Robes the last 3 times while still urging me to work hard. Is there actually an extra special reward for giving him 10, 15, or 20 lollipops, or can I stop now? I've already gotten Jack's Face/Mask and the recipe for a Spooky Wand.

I had the same thing. I think I have like 6 of Jack's head at this point. I dont think there is an extra special reward.

Do Katrina’s predictions actually affect what will happen to you? When I asked her about friendship with Shari, she told me it was strong, and when I returned, Shari started being extra-nice to me lol. Another day, I asked her about luck…and my golden slingshot broke? (unsure if those are related though)

Yes, Katrina's predictions do affect your luck. The luck with money is probably the easiest one to see. If you have good luck with money, the money you dig up from the golden spot will be 5,000 instead of 1,000, and you'll get 300 instead of 100 when you shake trees. You'll also get more money when you hit the money rock. I don't remember all of the details about the bad luck with money, but I know that you don't get a money rock then. Here's a link to Nookipedia's page on luck if you're interested: https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Luck#In_New_Horizons

They do, and when you choose to accept bad luck, bad things actually do happen. For instance, if you get bad luck for belongings, your tools will break much more easily. If you get good luck instead, your tools will never break for the remainder of the day (until Isabelle's announcements at 5AM), which is excellent if you plan on spending a lot of hours fishing, catching bugs, or moving flora without having to craft or buy more tools.

For me, I honestly think the friendship luck becomes kind of useless after a while if you have a lot of things in your catalogue and have all your villagers' pics. Good belongings luck is beneficial for me, as well as the health one for building outside (eating food doubles your energy level). The money luck also gives you a higher chance of finding gold nuggets, so there's that.

Yeah. I have all my villagers’ photos, so I know I’m good with them lol.
