New Horizons F.A.Q. – Ask Questions Here!

Hello,

I'd be willing to give you peaches, cherries, and oranges. Coconuts are widely available on every island you visit on a Mystery tour, but I can give you some if you want. Do you want to come to my island or for me to go to your island?

Also, in the future, it's best to post in the Nook's Cranny forum if you want to get or sell items.
Thank you. I'd love to visit your island please. I have never visited an island before!

I will send you a dodo code in a little bit as I'm completing a giveaway here. You then go to your airport and tell Orville that you want to visit someone and you want to search via Dodo code. You do have to have switch online for this function. Once you enter the Dodo code it will search for islands you can visit and mine should come up and you select to fly here.

I recently found out about the Achievements to making up to 10 million Bells profit by selling turnips so I started actually participating in the STALK market. This is the first week that I made enough profit to get a couple of Achievements, but I noticed that I didn't get the Achievements until I sold ALL of my turnips. Do the Achievements add my losses to my profits to calculate the net profit for the Achievements, or do they just add up my profits while ignoring my losses? I was willing to just tank any losses for the weeks with the Decreasing pattern, but now I'm worried that doing so will set me back for the Achievements.

Was just looking this up and it does say that losses count against you. May be worth finding other islands to visit with a good turnip price if you are focused on getting the achievement.

Do Lily of the Valley flowers count toward the flower requirement for maintaining 5-star island rating? Such that, if you had enough of them that have grown, you could replace other flowers with them?

I tried doing a Google search for your question, but nothing came up. I don't think it would count because they're the result of the 5-star rating so I think the algorithm might get confused if it tried to determine the island's rating by counting them.

I don’t believe so. As those flowers only grow on tops of cliff edges if you already have a 5-star rating, they don’t count towards it because you can’t use a watering can to make more. That does nothing. You can replace them, but just make sure to have a good balance of flowers.

From my knowledge, the rating increases if you have a good blend of flower types and/or colors, and there’s a minimum flower requirement as well (not sure what it is off the top of my head, though having only one of the same flower everywhere does not raise the rating).

Alas. Thank you for the info. :)

Unfortunate, but it makes sense I suppose. I did recall the importance of the variety from my prior question, and I cleared up all my excess flowers last month, I just noticed I had a lot of Lily of the Valley flowers and thought I'd like to feature those over some of the others if it was possible. Thanks again! :)

Hi. I'm looking for castle items - gate, tower and wall. Where do you get these items from? I've tried Nook's shopping in Resident Services, but they aren't listed.

Nook's Shopping changes every day so you just have to keep checking. I've gotten the tower and either the wall or the gate so far.

You might also be able to trade for them in the Nook's Cranny forum of this site if you want to get them immediately.

Thank you for replying so quickly. I will endeavour to look every day until they become available!

I am trying really hard to find floating presents because I read that it's the only way to get the mushroom and maple leaf DIYs, but most of the presents don't even have DIYs in them. Fall is nearly over, and I don't even have half of the mushroom DIYs. Is there an easier way to get the seasonal DIYs?

Can I still get the DIYs that I missed if I manage to travel to Fall Kappa mystery islands? I know I can probably trade for them on this site if I have to, but I'd rather get them myself if possible.

I'm sorry to say but there is no easy way to get the Seasonal DIYS. Its pure RNG you may sometimes find them but its not always guaranteed. Yes you can get DIYS from Kappa' Tours but bear in mind its RNG you may not always get the island you were hoping for. Unless you time travel you can only do it once a day.

Thanks for the info. I'm just kind of frustrated with this game because it occurs in real time so I feel like I'm going to miss out on something if I don't play every day for ages. I've given up on picking more produce every day to help save time and gold, and I think I'll stop picking my fruit too.

Yeah, this game is NOT fun for completionists like myself. Your best bet to get all the recipes without spending an eternity popping balloons would be to trade with others, either from here or elsewhere. I actually had to do that myself as two years went by and I still didn't have all the recipes. It really doesn't help that the game frequently gives you recipes you already have without taking into account what you still need. It's really frustrating.

I'm on Harvey's island speaking with Saharah.

She says: "Did you require rugs for your naked floors? I have mysterious wallpaper and flooring as well"
But there isn't anything mysterious in her selection of:

Concession-stand wall
Server-room wall
Hopscotch flooring
Lobby flooring
Brown cow-print rug
Blue Argyle rug
Elegant black rug
Red dotted rug

Do you only get the mysterious ones when she visits your island?

As far as I know, many of the things Saharah sells are only obtainable through her, but none are only purchasable when she visits your island. It's not completely limited like in New Leaf. Once an item you purchase through her is in your catalog, you can buy that item again through NookStop anytime you want. The wallpaper/flooring/rugs that are marked "Not for Sale" are either obtained through other events or are DIYs you've previously crafted.

I'm not sure how much progress you've made into your island so far, but once you get her trailer to come to Harv's Island, you can view a weekly selection of stuff for sale that you would normally only get from her island visits, and they have preview icons and names. As much as the concept of item randomness is interesting, I think that's a better way of obtaining her stuff, especially rugs.

How do you add fun things to your BellTree sidebar? I see people listing their villagers and island name for instance
It’s probably best to ask your question here as that’s a site question:
