New Horizons F.A.Q. – Ask Questions Here!

puddles asked to come over to my house, then almost immediately wanted to leave. i told her to stay, played a game with her, talked to her 30+ times across every room of my house, and showed her multiple items. she won't leave.
is she not going to because i asked her to stay? do i have to leave first?

EDIT: of course she left within 30 seconds of me posting this. thanks for embarrassing me puddles.

Yeah, it's pretty much random on when they want to leave. I've had villagers come by unannounced, give me an item when interacting, and stay for less than a minute before wanting to leave. Other times, I was the one that had to "force" them to leave because I got so bored of waiting. Either way, a "do not disturb" feature would've been nice when this scenario came back from New Leaf.

My villagers only seen to frequent the fossils part of the museum. I speak to each villager every single day which I've done since February 2022. I'd say every other day at least one villager is in the museum, but never ever more than two at any one time.

Do any of your villagers go to other parts of the museum?
Do you ever have more than two at any one time?

I have a question about Kapp'n's boat tour, to get to the Star Fragment Island, does it need to be night time to be able to get there, since it's night on there or is any time of the day okay?

I’ve encountered them in other parts; it’s simply a random occurrence of where they might end up being. How filled up are your other sections? If there are more fossils to observe at compared to other exhibits, then your villagers will likely go to the more filled-in areas.

I have encountered two villagers in one area at the same time. It’s very rare for that to happen, but most of the time if there are two inside, they’ll simply be in different areas or exhibits away from each other. I actually have a photo saved with two of my former villagers sharing the screen in the museum, but it’s on my computer and I’m typing this post from my phone.

EDIT: Here is the picture I referenced. Skye can be seen behind me, and Scoot is hiding behind the aquarium to the left:

Yes, it needs to be past 7PM. It’s the same as if trying to reach Scorpion/Tarantula island for mystery tours.

Thanks for answering, I usually play earlier in the day so that explains why Kapp'n never brought me there!

My museum was complete a month or so ago. I have played every single day since 1st February 2022, and I ensure I talk to every single villager every day. Excluding the coffee shop, I've never seen a villager anywhere else apart from the fossils section. I just find that incredible.

Hmm, must be bad RNG then. Maybe they can be found at the other exhibits at certain times of the day that you're not around for? Highly doubt that would be the case, but I can't really figure out a good reason why your villagers only visit the fossil section.

Please can someone tell me what the orange and yellow things are on the left-hand-side , and what the purple and light blue star things are. This is from a Dream island, I visited.

Oh, one other thing please. How would I get flooring like that?
It appears to be a custom design that was layered on top of the default brick path. If a custom design contains even a single pixel of transparency, the whole thing will appear semi-transparent on the ground.

I have a question about Gulliver and Gullivarr's items. Is there a specific order in which you receive the items or is it random for each player?

The items you get are completely random. Although with Gulliver, if you complete around 30 or so of his digging tasks, he will give you the recipe for the golden shovel.

This might be a bit of a dumb question, but I was wondering...I just got back to playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons after two years of not playing due to burnout, specifically to start playing Happy Home Paradise.

I have seen screenshots of villagers floating on pool toys in the ocean at the beach near Paradise Planning, yet I've never even seen anyone doing this in my game, does anyone know how that happens?

The more villagers you build houses for, the higher the chances are of that happening. If you assign a roomate to a villager, they'll hang out together at the beach often, and will also be in the water near each other like what you're wanting to see. Like most scenarios, it's a random occurance on when it happens, but definitely not when DJ K.K. is performing.
